Anyone else want to see Canada relegated just for the laughs?

Even if there was relegation this year, Canada would be safe, no? I can't imagine one bad tournament could get Canada relegated with the amount of medals they win in IIHF tournaments.

Relegation is year by year.

Also, this is a great opportunity for Great Britain. Great Britain made it back to the World Championships in 2019 for the first time in 25 years I think. Beat France to survive and now will get to play 3 years in a row. That's huge for development.

Seriously though, when it comes to Hockey it should just be 'Britain.'

'Great Britain' within the context of hockey seems like they're over-selling it.

Britain is 'okay' at best. Not Great.

With mostly Canadian ringers on the roster.

That is true, but we were all interchangeable with British then.

So this tournament is bonkers....upsets all over the place if based on historical results.

Kazahkstan just beat Germany.

Also...Mangiapane is in for Canada today who are on the ropes to not be relegated.

Canada is not in the ropes to be relegated.

There is no relegation this year (covid-exception), and also Canada has only played three out of their seven group phase games, so plenty of time to do better.

They might have dug too deep of a hole to make the playoffs though.

Mangiapane making things happen. On the ice for both goals. Canada looks more aggressive but that's likely Mangiapane bias on my part.

They did a segment on him in between periods. Apparently “in on” the opposition goals too.
