Gloves off.

Quote:
The Earth is round. Two plus two equals four. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the 2020 election for President and Vice President of the United States. The election was not stolen, rigged, or fixed. These are facts. They are demonstrable and irrefutable.

Defendants have always known these facts. They knew Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the 2020 U.S. election. They knew the election was not stolen. They knew the election was not rigged or fixed. They knew these truths just as they knew the Earth is round and two plus two equals four.

Defendants did not want Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to win the election. They wanted President Donald Trump and Vice President Michael Pence to win re-election. Defendants were disappointed. But they also saw an opportunity to capitalize on President Trump’s popularity by inventing a story. Defendants decided to tell people that the election was stolen from President Trump and Vice President Pence.

Defendants had an obvious problem with their story. They needed a villain. They needed someone to blame. They needed someone whom they could get others to hate. A story of good versus evil, the type that would incite an angry mob, only works if the storyteller provides the audience with someone who personifies evil.

There has to be more to this Dobbs firing. He wasn't any more crazy than Maria Bartiromo and he had by far the highest ratings on FOX Business, a network that has very poor ratings to begin with. Something else is gonna come out I imagine.

I happened to catch CNN's "media analysis/expert" on earlier and he commented advertisers were walking away from Dobbs' show and it wasn't making money anymore. Sure, he's on CNN and may be biased but I assume the numbers would show he's right. Sounded like Do s was a bit of a sacrifice because of the lawsuit. They were also making the point there are other shows on Fox just as outlandish but they havent been touched because ratings and advertising $$.

Immigrants are conservative, remember all those different flags storming the Capitol?

TV news is sort of dying everywhere as advertising dollars are either not available, due to COVID, or going elsewhere like podcasts. This one is making the headlines because Lou Dobbs is nuts but CNN/Headline News has cut back quite a bit over the last year or so.

He's an immigrant and Canadian; Trump wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire, yet he loves him somehow.

Well that's a ridiculously stupid blanket statement based on the craziest extremists in society. Well done.

Not everyone who went to the Capitol was an extremist. If you research immigrant communities and media, you will see many reasons why people went from being Republican, to anti-socialist, to thinking the election was stolen. TorqueDog's uncle is in this range.

There were people who went to protest, and when others actually stormed the Capitol, they were like, holy ####, this is crazy. I watched South Korean flags for example and maybe one guy made it up the steps. The rest were in the parking lot just hanging out.

^Saying "immigrants are conservative" is absolutely a stupid statement.

What is a better statement would be: "Immigrants are just as likely to be conservative as they are to be liberal" which is true of most people grouped together, and even then I don't think that's necessarily true.

These two things go hand in hand IMO. If you land on the side of no longer believing in democracy, then you're probably looking to overthrow the government (given your druthers).

I think that since this trends elderly, the people who were in DC protesting but did not storm the capitol were the ones who needed ramps to get up the stairs, and need a bathroom every 30 min. Otherwise they would have been right up there with the rest of the felons.

As for the foreign flags, there was some dip-s--t with a Georgian flag. As in the country, not the state. That's probably a trend.

This post is pretty snarky, so I should say it's not directed at you personally GS. I'm just tired of hearing how we "need to listen to the Trump voter", and forgive these people for the sake of unity. Or that they're not racists, they're just racist adjacent.

"Everyone has Uncle MAGA! He's not a bad guy, he's just unemployed and really angry at brown people! Can't we just get along?"

Nope. These are the "f your feelings" crowd, who are openly damaging to society, and have been for a decade. Starting with Birtherism, moving forward to the Trump cult support of white supremacy, finishing with travelling in a pandemic to protest an election they lost.

These are not people who need to be listened to. They need to be politically marginalized (like they were in the last election - house, senate, presidency), and Fox News needs to be stomped out of existence for turning them into fascists, and fascist collaborator supporters.

The time of the white supremacy and domestic terror in the US needs to end. I for one will be THRILLED to see the pendulum swing the other way for the next several years.

I agree you but this is not the issue of solely extreme whites against immigrants. Those MAGA uncles are immigrants as well. I stand by my statement that immigrants are conservative, they are conservative from their homeland, not just now. Europe and North America are the most liberal places on earth that immigrants have come to. Every immigrant comes from a more conservative place, conservative in terms of societal issues, human rights, class structure, religion et cetera. TorqueDog expressed surprise or amusement that a Pakistani uncle would worship Lou Dobbs. It's actually quite common.

Go into immigrant/diaspora media. It'll really open your eyes. It's not just anger towards immigrants, it's immigrant on immigrant hate.

I'm clearly missing something because isn't lowered income eligibility a good thing? Or is that now going to exclude everyone over that threshold?

Because if it's the latter that is pretty contrary to Democratic policy to the point it doesn't make any sense.

“Absolute Proof” is absolutely bonkers

Quote:
“Absolute Proof” not only contains no proof, but consists of Lindell endlessly repeating the same debunked theories he’s been pushing for months now: that not only did Trump not lose the popular vote, but so many people turned out to vote for him that “the algorithms of these machines broke,” prompting Dominion and Smartmatic to get busy rigging things for Biden.

One of many big holes in Lindell’s conspiracy theory is that recounts and audits haven’t turned up a shred of evidence of systemic fraud. Even Trump appointees said the November 3 election was “the most secure in American history.” But Lindell, of course, is far past the point of letting facts get in the way of anything.

As the documentary progresses, Lindell interviews a number of so-called “experts” — such as retired Col. Phil Waldron, who was recently in the news for working with Giuliani in Michigan to spread debunked claims about Biden’s victory — with accompaniment provided by ominous music that seems lifted straight from a spoof.

Lindell’s documentary won’t persuade anybody who hasn’t already been mainlining Trump Kool-Aid. But buying time on OAN means he can present his conspiracy theories with impunity — unlike what happened on Newsmax on Tuesday, when Lindell’s attempt to spread lies about voting machines resulted in a horrified host literally getting up and leaving the set as visions of billion-dollar lawsuits likely danced through his head.

It is the latter. And it doesn't make any sense at all. No idea why they would even contemplate it, good way to tick off millions of voters.

But Bernie just said 'some Dems' so I don't think it's a majority or anything. Still pretty dumb for any Dem to think it's a good idea.
