Jon Gillies has had as many games this season in which he has let in 5 or more goals (4 times) as he has had games in which he has a .900 or higher save percentage in a full game (4 times).
Is it strange they didn’t pull Gillies and put in Parsons at some point? No confidence in him or maybe he’s not 100%? Either way another tough night for Gillies.

High goals against does not always mean it was the goalies fault. Clearly the Stockton team defense has struggled for a lot of this year. I didn’t watch the game so I don’t know who was responsible for the goals but it’s not always correct to assume the goalie was the biggest problem.

What a box score! Hull gets his 76th, Nieuwendyk approaching 40 and Theo gets to 90 points on a short handed hat trick.

Can't thank enough. He was the first ever i believe and did so while shadowing Brett hull. It was on a hockey card lol
I remember during the game the commentators having no idea if it was a record or not because no one had even thought to track the record number of shorthanded goals in one game before.
I don't think Gillies has been good enough but woof, that roster is really bad.
I think we'd see a different story if that team had Kylington, Andersson and Valimaki. It's hard to look good with the 6D they have to work with night in and night out.

I don't buy it being a personnel issue. Without the Big 3, they still have Ollas-Mattson, Valiyev, Nielsen, Taormina, and Healy. Two of those guys are tweeners that are getting paid big bucks to be excellent (Taormina, Valiyev) and two of those guys are good AHL players (Nielsen, Healy). Yet they are leaking goals left, right, and centre.
Same thing on offense where they have a few tweeners that should be dominating (Rychel, Graovac, Lazar, Foo), yet they're still in the bottom half of the league in scoring.
Taormina and Valyiev are far from NHL tweeners. They are not even playing good AHL hockey right now.
Also no right shot out of any of those guys.
It’s a defense made out of guys the coaches probably expected to compete for spots on the third pair while Valimaki, Kylington, and Rasmus logged huge minutes. But then Stone and Kulak got beat out for their jobs.

Schneider has a .922 save percentage in 11 games playing behind the same defence. Stockton up 3-2 in 3rd period with 15 minutes to go Parsons in net
Stockton wins 3-2 over Tucson. Parsons with 39 saves on 41 shots Matthew Phillips 2 goals and 1 assist Buddy Robinson with the other goal. Thats 3 very good starts in a row for Parsons after a couple of bad ones to start the season.
