For a routine decent play in puck retrieval and low percentage shot, which the goalie flubbed.

That's what you get with Russell. Has there every been an NHL defensemen that spends more time on his knees or lying on the ice sprawled out?

I only watched like 40 minutes but man the Oilers sure miss that secondary scoring Eberle provided. They were flat.
Nobody other than Mcdavid has any offensive creativity.

I cringed when Drew Remenda made it out like it was a beautiful goal. Call it for what it is you goof. A horrible goal that had no business going in.

I hate that I laughed at that because at least he is obviously trying, desperate as it is.
Effort was never the knock on Kris.
Good for him to have somehow got 4mil per out of the Oilers.

Yeah...Russell is as honest a hockey player as you will find and certainly a decent NHLer...in the right position.
He is not a 4 mil a year guy and for sure not a 4 X 4 guy. Chiarelli panicked on that one.

It's a funny screen shot. But blaming that goal on Russell is consistent with a fan base that does not want to objectively assess the team problems. The terrible change that left Flyers wide open in scoring position was far more the cause of that goal. Russell was playing too deep in his own zone and is not blameless (he would have no difficulty taking responsibility for that) but that screenshot exists because he never gives up trying to stop a goal.
Screenshots of forwards gliding to the bench should be far more embarrassing and widely circulated by angry fans on this one.

But they won't be because it was the Golden Child who did it (just like how Hall used to get a free pass for doing the same thing).
In McDavid's defence, he had over 22 minutes of ice time in the game. He was obviously just conserving his energy for overtime.
