Default Should I upgrade my modem?

I have a very old Motorola SB5101 with a 15mbs connection. I'm having trouble with a fair amount of buffering when streaming. If I upgrade to a more current modem (at least a DOCSIS 3.0) will I see an improvement in quality?

These are the compatible modems for my ISP

Technicolor TC4350
(this is the one they sell)

Techicolor TNTC4300

Thomson DCM475
Huawei MT130U
Hitron Technologies CGN

Which of those should I go with? None of them yield many google results which leads me to believe they are old. They have a few Ovislink models too but I don't want a wireless one.

Are you with Lightspeed or Teksavvy? I am with Lightspeed and picked up a secondhand Thomson DCM475 and getting about 85Mbps download speeds even with the 75Mbps plan.

The plans are pretty reasonable now, unless there is a reason to stick with the 15Mbps plan, I would go to the 75Mbps. They had a deal on not too long ago for a $39/month for 1 year contract.
