20 Years for Fire On Ice Flames community
The Calgarypuck birth happened without me, I think it came into being in the fall of 1999, Mike Board and I merged our sites in the spring of 2000.
But before that was the original Fire On Ice message board, and community, which is now 20 years old.
Thanks to Displaced Flames Fan for reminding me earlier this week.
So 20 years talking hockey, but how many active posters go all the way back? The members list shows 4 pages of people signing up in October of 2001, when I took Calgarypuck off the Rivals server and out on it's own, but who goes back to the old site?

I was there...the old ladder style board...My first venture into the message board community.

I checked it out once or twice, but didn't become a member until 2004. Kinda sad that I missed out because the community was really impressive back then. Not that it isn't now, but those were the good old days.

I seem to recall a black background style board when I first joined. Was that the ladder style board?

Was a regular on the old board and was slow to make the jump to CP, hence not being in the 2001 club. Those were dark times to be a Flames fan, these boards were kind of like Flames Fan Anonymous... "Hi, I'm cannon7, and I'm a Flames fan..."

I joined the old board just before the switch. It was Jeff (RIP) who introduced me to it. That was the fall of 2000.
