Good on Lehner. This stuff needs to stop, it just leads to addiction and abuse of drugs.

Wild and sez he could back it up.

Having said that, man the guy has no filter and likes the spot light. Vegas must be loving him.

I don't think this was out of nowhere it seems to have started with someone referencing the Eichel situation and how the team will just have him play through the pain and feed him addictive opioids.

Not to sound like a homer, but the Flames organization have been very proactive regarding addiction issues, to the extent of employing Brian McGrattan in a Player Assistance role.

Where are these doctors? I'm one of the few people that actually honestly needs and deserves these drugs, and I can't threaten anyone enough to get a sniff. Maybe it's like streaming. The less-legal ones are cheaper, better quality, and less supportive of criminals.

Xanax has been abused by athletes for 40 years, this isn't any breaking news by Lehner.

True story, I once had an NHL player offer me one at a golf tourney saying it would make me putt better

Maybe this also a detractors for Calgary as a star hot spot....

Seriously tho you don't think it happens here too? I'm sure there are players that still get "treatmeant" I could be wrong tho and Calgary is a unicorn that dosent. As a perrineal cap team I highly doubt it. Sean Monahan was reported as being hurt in game 6? ( citation needed?) And played the rest of theyear till he was shut down. IM SURE the Flames are better than that but I dought it. Stations qou and all......

Why? Because they have some one that cares... laura ingraham called, you stole here stchick. Lehner should probably just shut the #### up and stop pucks right?

For the last decade + fans have been saying why don't celebrities and athletes use their platforms. To speak up then when they do fans act like hurt asses

I know he's gone but I'm really glad "Benzo" didn't stick for Bennett's nickname.

Yeah I think Vegas is going too wish they would have kept MAF.

I doubt the Golden Knights are very happy with this distraction now, or the NHL. I agree that if there is an issue then it needs too be brought up and the guilty parties punished, but right now it's just Robin Lehner threatening too release stories on Twitter.

Really wasn’t expecting a bunch of sympathy posts for the Golden Knights in this thread.

No one should be surprised that there is widespread pill abuse in the NHL.

Players getting access to drugs to help with mental issues and sleep. Not really a huge surpise. When I played rec hockey it was hard to wind down after a game and fall asleep. Can’t imagine how hard it is after a big playoff game, where you were the hero or the goat.
