If there is an intersection in a worse state than this one anywhere else in the city, I'd like to know where. In 5 weeks it will be even worse once the SW is fully open. Even with the west leg open we still might need an interchange there.

I'm back to driving that one day per week, headed NB. That's bad enough, usually backed up to 17 Ave but holy crap is SB Sarcee ever bad now that traffic has returned. It's backed up half way or further down the hill towards 16 Ave.

Anyone know the opening date for the new 14th St NW overpass? Just saw the lines were painted and it looks complete, the only work I saw still being done was some landscaping under the bridge

All 3 lanes in each direction are now fully open on Macleod under Stoney - what a relief that is.

Is the Fish Creek Blvd to 22X portion open yet? Or when will it open?

I think the Fish Creek Blvd to 22x portion is still on track to open Oct 1?

They have done a ton of work by my house in Sundance...can't wait until the remaining section of the road is open. I feel for all the people in Shawnessy/Bridlewood who can't use the 162nd overpass yet.

I don’t see it mentioned in here yet, but the lane addition project on NE Stoney has been done for a while already.
Added a third lane everywhere between 17th Ave SE and Airport Trail NE, and also a 4th lane between 17th SE and 16th NE Northbound.
Traffic flows much better now.

I am most excited for the traffic decrease on Everridge Drive once the portion between Fish Creek Blvd and James McKevitt is open. Tough to make left turns sometimes during rush hour with how many vehicles are having to use this residential road for access to/from Tsuu Tina Trail.

At this point I’ll be happy if they can un-fk one route in the deep southwest. Don’t care which one, just pick something and finish it. This daily detour change on every possible route is driving me nuts.

Yes, it's still October 1 for the Fish Creek to 22X portion unfortunately, despite everything looking ready. My condolences to any regular users of the Sarcee/Bow intersection because after October 1 it will honestly be one of the most delayed at-grade intersections in the country. No exaggeration.

Yeah it's significantly better... what a massive impact this project had at relatively low cost. I don't even see an immediate need for the rest of the NE leg to get widened.

That was such a simple and inexpensive project, it's a shame it took so long to do it as it did. Now that my kids are finished minor hockey and Covid put the brakes on our summer travel plans I rarely have the opportunity to drive the east section anymore.

And yet, 22x east/west from James McKevitt though to the Cranston turnoff is an abolsute cluster####. At this point, I feel it's just a big experiment to see where driver's breaking points are.

broke the first rule

The temporary lane coming from WB Crowchild onto SB Stoney is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. It is super long with really wide double white lines. The dotted white lines where you're supposed to merge seems like it is 1-2 car-lengths long, which isn't a lot of space when you're merging into traffic at 100. It's way too tight if you're following the rules, and there are so many people who get impatient and merge in over the solid white lines, and box in those merging in at the end. They could give a much longer merging area and safely get people into traffic.

Going from 1 southbound lane the other week, to all lanes and ramp exits open now…. What a difference! Felt like Christmas morning on the drive home!

I noticed the lines were all painted yesterday on the 22x to fish creek blvd section! Can't be much longer now. Hopefully they'll open her up before the Oct 1st date.

I'm sure all the people who live on Fish Creek will be happy to have all that traffic off their connector. Always surprised how many people took that over Anderson.
Gives me hope the West portion will one day actually open; looks like a couple of the flyovers @ 16th are open for detoured traffic and paving continues up paskapoo hill to OBCR.

It's back to two lanes on both sides of the new bridge now. Seems fine for the time being, no?
