That will just cause the heels to dig in harder, things will just stay the same, period.

If everyone knows the teacher is armed, they'll just be the first one shot.

Or the teacher snaps and shoots a kid. Or a kid or group of kids overwhelms a teacher and uses their gun in a shooting.

Yeah, but once armed teachers inevitably backfires then there's always arming every kid, vesting every kid up, putting kids into individual cells at school so they can't shoot anyone else....lots of practical, American-made solutions still available.

Wait, we had a thread discussing that possibility(thanks, Sliver). So if we keep the number of kids in a class under the number of elementary school kids a teacher could fight(using our scientifically derived results) everyone can be safe! CP, solving all the tough problems without even knowing it.

I vaguely remembering reading once that one of the features of a new highschool that was being built took into account shooting angles and such to give students a better chance at survival. Curved hallways and such.

What an absurdly backwards country. Nothing about it makes sense.

I do have to say I am legitimately shocked the GOP hasn't suggested just straight up eliminating education as the way to get rid of school shootings. It both keeps gun rights in tact, and eliminates education, one of the main principles of the GOP.

Aren't their policies essentially eroding public education anyways? Seems like its more like death by a million cuts (to the education system) and then let the guns take care of the kids along with their collective faith in the education system. ####ty country continues down its path, and is beyond the point of no return.

The only thing better than lots of guns is lots of taxpayer-funded guns. What an opportunity!

His father was murdered with a gun. Completely different situation, but I imagine having that baggage really adds an extra emotional layer.

This is just…WTF!!! It’s like the States has decided they are fine with mass shootings as long as they still get to pose with their sweet, sweet guns. What an add backwards country

Raw. And well said.

People will say he should stay in his lane, but he is IMO. This problem is in the lane of everyone in that country.

Tragic.

It's amazing that the NRA are able to keep pulling the wool over people's eyes as to the solution to this problem. Almost every nation that has dealt with war tactics over the last 5000 years understands the effect that surprise has on a conflict. From Sun Tzu to, well, America. The most famous is probably Hannibal. If someone comes out of the blue and starts shooting people, it doesn't matter how many guns are present, and who has them, the element of surprise will win.

It will be easier to shoot up a school in certain states than it will be to get an abortion. What a half ass backwards system.

Stay in his lane? How and why? He's an example of what people want to see when they ask people to "use their platform".
