man, they were bad. Like really bad. But to be fair, they really are not all that good ... their point total has been grossly inflated by late and/or lucky goals and they seldomly pass the eye test. Tottenham also exposed them in the CL. Their defense was simply shambolic today. Zagadou was having a nightmare and was mercifully pulled at halftime, Piszczek and Diallo were unable to cope with Bayerns speed on the wing and Delaney/Witsel were completely overwhelmed in midfield. Frankly 5-0 flattered them. They somehow hit the post early though, if they score there it's a completely different game. But they were dismantled after that.

Don't really know what to make of Bayern. They were several classes above Dortmund today, but I'm not sure Kovac is the right fit for them in terms of playing style and I also think they still need a bit of a squad facelift.

I havent seen the match today, but thats no secret. I think Kovac was either hired to squeeze the last drop of juice out of this roster or as an audition for going forward, but Bayern are going to have to retool pretty much the entire squad.

Looking at City's lineup, no Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne and Sane on the bench, Delph starting. Spurs absolutely have to win this game, this is a pretty weak City team, relatively speaking.

Awful penalty after a bad penalty call. Makes sense.

VAR handball strikes again! Terrible penalty by Aguero. He must think he’s wearing an Argentina jersey

Also the most hilarious part is he gets a yellow card too which is ridiculous.

That is a beautiful pass from Henderson leading up to that goal.

That looked bad for Kane.

Kane just went off, did not look good. Could not put pressure on his ankle after an awkward ankle roll and then Delph stepped on it

Great job by Son on that. City have been pretty poor going forward so don't see them scoring.

Is there a reason De Bruyne isn’t playing? Odd decision to keep him out if he’s healthy. City look toothless

Terrible tactics by Pep this game, why bring on De Bruyne and Sane so late? Bizzare from him, especially because this tournament is far more important than the league. Tottenham isn’t Schalke, getting a result at home will not be easy when down 1-0 with no away goals. City didn’t even look interested in this game

Even had they not allowed Spurs to score, banking on a guaranteed win is pretty risky. David Silva has been poor for a while now and they badly missed Bernardo Silva.

Agreed, very odd approach to one of their biggest games of the season. So many times we see away goals decide ties. Frankly, Pep has not done well in the champions league since leaving Barca. It’s games like this where you have to question his ability to get his team to step up their intensity. He’s yet to do this at City or Bayern. It’s a big black mark on his resume.

I'll take a 2-0 win at home. Sets us up well for the trip to Portugal.

something about Pep and his approach to CL knockout games just seems off. Ends up outsmarting himself every year, like clockwork. Rooting hard for Spurs to go through, going to be very hard but I hope they can somehow pull it off. One goal at Etihad and City are in trouble.

Definitely has a bad tendency to outsmart himself. It's that ego about trying to prove how smart you are, but like I said even if they got a 0-0 then it's a much more dangerous game. All he's done with his approach is put all the pressure on them at home, and their history in this competition isn't good enough to bank on that.

just saw Peps away record in knockout games: 6-10-10. I knew it wasn't good, but still expected it to be a lot better. Given that he was only there with great Barcelona, Bayern and City teams, that's actually pretty shambolic.

I just watched and great outcome for Spurs. Obviously this is marred with Kane going down and that looks bad, but it was actually a really solid win. That VAR was ridiculous, and basically as feared where it’s not correcting egregious errors, but instead creating all new ones.

Quick question on DAZN. How are you guys getting the best results? Wifi to Chromecast was a mess. The PS4 is marginally better. Maybe I need a smart TV?
