Kyrgios blinks serving for the match at 5-3, now we're at 5-5 in set 5.
Edit: Nick breaks to take set 5 7-5

Bencic is out as Wang won set 3 6-2 earlier today.

That's a real blow to the tournament. I was looking forward to seeing how far he could get after defending his title at the Queens Club.

With Hurkacz losing in round 1 and Cilic and Berrettini having to pull out due to COVID-19, this certainly opens the door for Felix. Of course, he needs to first defeat Cressy and that match has just started.

And if you were going to pick who's had the better of it so far in the first set you'd have to say Cressy. In this game he gets out front 0-30 and then BARELY misses two returns that would have been clean winners. This could very easily go to a tiebreak, obviously, and those are the types of shots that can land in and make the difference.
Felix hasn't been serving well yet though - by which I mean he's been missing his first serve more than usual - so if that improves, it would likely change the outlook.

Felix had a break point, but Cressy's serve-and-volley game is a tough nut to crack.

Yep, they've both had a threatening return game now. Feeling much better about this tiebreak we're about to see.

Maybe Felix and Maxime should just go to the umpire and say how about we just go straight to the tie-break in set 2?

Well, that was a bit more drama than I was expecting when it got to 5-2, but he pulled it off, and Cressy played reasonably well in that breaker too despite a double fault and an unnecessarily missed forehand.

Cressy is a great volleyer, but Felix has come up with some beauties of his own when required.

Well, that was a very poor service game from Felix and Cressy breaks without having to do very much at all.

Well, as usual, this is all your fault.
... Plenty of time to get the break back, though. Felix does seem to have the timing down better on Cressy's serve since the first 3-4 return games or so when he basically seemed to have zero answers.

That was a fine service game from FAA, but he needs a break as Cressy is serving for set 2 at 5-4

... You do?
Anyway I am honestly pretty surprised that Cressy went through that entire set without stumbling on serve even once.

I stated that badly, I meant an additional challenge in addition to the challenge that you are losing.

I figured that as the match went on, Felix's service game would get more unassailable while he'd find inroads on Cressy's. The exact opposite seems to be happening.
