I dont totally blame the refs, it is a faster and faster game.

Why can't replay be used for stuff like this.

In this game alone there was a puck over that glass and a hand pass missed.

We at home know in 30 seconds it's a missed call. Only the ref doesnt know, why cant we help him?

I don't blame the refs. I can understand how that can be missed on the ice, but the league needs to get it together on video review.

Fair, but ..

Game 7 vs Vegas
Game 7 vs Colorado
Tonight

There seems to be a trend where incompetence selectively favours SJ

**** the Sharks. If they win the Cup this year, I will not watch any more NHL hockey (caveat - I will accept invites to watch a game from a suite with my kid ). I am cutting the chord as it is when I move and I won't have to worry about finding NHL streams.

What a joke. Can't even argue he was just trying to knock it down. Was clearly batting it to an open player. That might be worse than the Eakin & Landeskog blown calls.

I do. Even resident referee apologist Ron MacLean doesn't understand how they missed that.

Simple

OT game winner - automatic review

Help the refs do their jobs

So how many years till refs are replaced by 50 cameras and a centralized AI ref-bot.

Game is too fast for 2 blind refs, and can't make everything reviewable, so....

What is simple is - war room sees obvious blown call, phones it in. All others, leave the call alone.

automatic review of what? there is automatic review in OT and last 2 minutes of the game.. for review able plays.

where does the review stop? review everything since the last whistle? since the zone entry? why not review every goal for absolutely anything that can overturn a goal?

Are you arguing in favour of wrong calls?

How about propose a solution

I will offer the qualification that I think the reffing needs to be much better. I guess I should say I can accept how it would be possible to miss that but yeah, poor officiating is a fair assessment.

I wonder if getting a couple refs up in the press box with instant replay that can call down if they see something would be a solution that wouldn't add too much time to games? I get that they don't want to review everything, but they need to do something.

I don't know a solution.. opening goals to review of anything is also not a solution.

Add an official at each end of the ice (not on ice, in a seat behind the net somewhere) that's not on the ice that looks for this type of stuff? Their sole job is about goals and plays that lead up to it .. not responsible for penalties or anything else
