So I'm playing the new Doom Eternal on PS4 and the frickin' platforming is really pissing me off. I'm stuck on an early part of the game where you first have to do some double jumps and grab a vine and then use the rush button to get to a room in the side of a cliff. Trying to platform in first person isn't easy. I'm sure that fact I'm almost 50 and maybe don't have the greatest reflexes and timing now isn't helping either

I couldn't imagine trying to play Doom with a controller, unless they significantly altered the difficulty for the console versions

I'm really digging Far Cry New Horizon. It's partial sequel/follow up to Far Cry 5. I'm a huge fan of the series but found 5 to be...underwhelming. New Horizon seems to play a lot better and has a lot less right-wing political thuggery story-line that dragged down the last game.

Great graphics and environments. Fun gameplay. Feels like a bit of a return to it's roots, although I heard the grinding parts get annoying as the game progresses.

Still, a great game to deep dive into.

I'm playing it right now too. I like all the connections to 5 it has.

Spoiler!

Not sure if anyone else has been checking if NHL 20 for PS4 has been on sale but as of today it is now on for 23.99 if you're like me and haven't bought it yet.

Not surprising, Last of Us delayed with the world on lockdown.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but God of War is on sale on the PlayStation Store for $14.99.

A fantastic price for a game of the year winner. There are quite a few great deals on there in the spring sale.

Some pretty great PS4 deals in this spring sale, especially if you haven't played some of these games (Metacritic rating in brackets). Here were some one's that stand out:

Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience - $6 (94)
God of War - $15 or $26 for Digital Deluxe Edition (94)
Resident Evil 2 - $26 (91)
Batman Arkham Collection - $26 for 3 games (91, 96, and 87)
Doom - $10 (85)
Bioshock Collection - $16 (96, 88, and 94)
Uncharted Lost Legacy - $15 (84)
Assassin's Creed Odyssey Ultimate Edition - $37 which includes all DLC and a bunch of extra's, you also get ACIII remastered and Liberation as well

If you've played Factorio before and are into those sorts of games, I'd recommend checking out Satisfactory. It's on the Epic store in Early Access and I've been sinking a lot of time into it with a few buddies.

Being Early Access, there are a few bugs no question. But what a gorgeous looking game. Draw distances for miles with amazing landscapes to explore. Very addicting.

In terms of what's on sale on Steam now, there are two things that jump out at me:

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is one of the better games made for this generation of gaming platforms, and it's $11 right now. If you have a decent set of headphones, it's mind bendingly good. I'm currently playing it with Nari Ultimates with the haptic feedback and it's almost too much sensory input to handle. I've never played anything like it.

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition is a beautiful new-era platformer. In 4k, it's one of the prettiest things you can put on your screen. Right now it's about $5. You just cannot go wrong there.

I find it easier since there are so many buttons in modern doom...I ignored my earlier advice and bought Doom Eternal for full price, game is awesome

71 hours in and coming up towards the end of Persona 5. Definitely the longest JRPG I’ve ever played, and probably the long best single player game in general. It’s been very good, but I’m ready for it to be done. Hoping to wrap it up before FF7 lands this week.

I thought Persona was more of a 100 hour game. You might have a way to go unless you are playing a lot quicker than most.

I did check on this (because I couldn't see how the story could go on another 20-30 hours) and based on what I've seen online, I am playing quicker than most. I'm at the end of the seventh (and last) "main" dungeon, then there's another "month" of in-game time, and I've heard you then have to finish Mementos to get the ending. I feel like it'll be another ten hours or so before I wrap it up.

If you're playing on normal, I'm not at all sure where people get another 20-30 hours out of it from. I don't skip any dialogue, I use all my social time. Maybe on higher difficulties you really need to grind out levels and make sure you have specific Personas with you, but I've found the challenge level to be good on normal.
