Some decent content there. Starship Troopers, The Fifth Element, Ghostbusters 1 & 2, the latest Mission Impossible.

Last week they added the classic cult tv series Freaks and Geeks, that and Ghostbusters are great additions.

Finally Hellboy 2! Its one of those movies I've wanted to see, but didn't really care if I ever saw it . . . if that makes sense.
Every once in a while I'd trawl through the el cheapo bins at Walmart, Superstore, etc. on the lookout for it, but no luck.

Sad times for us...
http://tunlr.net/forums/topic/netfli...-been-dropped/
Anyone have any alternative suggestions? Tunlr was fantastic while it lasted... I'd rather not pay for this service if I don't have to.

It costs real money to keep buildings full of servers running. Bandwidth ain't free. I don't anticipate any free service lasting very long.

I'm sure this has been asked and answered 50 times but does anyone know a good site to check out the US netflix selection? I wouldn't mind seeing just how much better it is than Netflix Canada.

I'm only going off the url provided, but I'm not seeing much that would warrant a $5/month increase. There definitely are some good movies here, but the way everybody talked about it I was expecting something a little more...

Have you seen Sons of Anarchy? That's worth it for sure. Also Downton Abbey (I don't think that's on Canadian Netflix). Workaholics is another one that comes to mind. US is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better. I barely even look at Canadian Netflix anymore.

I think you're making the case actually. 3 extra shows, 2 of which I don't care about, certainly isn't going to make me pay an extra $5/month.
I checked that site and I see a whole bunch of the same stuff I already get and a few things I don't really care about that seem like extras.

I read somewhere that the US selection is about 10x as large as Canada's. That being said, their selection isn't fundamentally different, just more of it.
I use unblock-us and I feel that the price is right and, with a kid around, there are a lot of shows like he likes on there that you can't get on the Canadian one. Plus, as a descendant of Limeys, being able to access UK Netflix, BBC iplayer, ITV, Channel 4, etc. makes it worth every penny. You can also access Hulu if you want, although I never do.

is there anyway to modify your router, so that all devices can have this?

^ Yep - you just put the unblock-us DNS servers into your router (where you can specify DNS servers) and every device that is connected will use benefit.

Hidemyass.com is what i use for VPN. super easy if you have a boxee box. If you dont have a boxee, they have full instructions to modify your router to do allow VPN.
Hidemyass also has a free 30 days trial - so if you arent sure about the US Netflix, get the trial and see for yourself if it is worth it. No harm in free trials.

unblock is worth it for the documentary selection alone.

Legend of the Seeker 1-2
Transformers Prime 1
Spartacus 1
Hell on Wheels 1
Star Trek DS9 1-7
TNG 1-7

Stargate Atlantis 1-5
Once Upon a Time 1
Things on Canadian version not on US that I've watched/watching:

Tunlr stopped it's Netflix service this week.
The Canadian one seems to be getting a lot better. They just need more clear times and dates for when they bring in new content. American Netflix is great because it usually all falls on the Monday of every week.

So what's the deal with shows being in HD but never playing in HD? There seems to be some shows (The Walking Dead) that you can't play in HD on a computer, is that correct??
There must be a way to fool it, that basically makes half the shows I want to watch worthless.
