Planes fly all over the city. I believe there were frequent complaints from residents in the SW. I think it was in the signal hill area.

Being near the airport doesn’t matter much if you’re not on a frequent takeoff/landing path.

I'm reporting this post.

Plus, we need that swear filter deactivated ASAP. Does photon have the day off or something?

No man, he lives in the deep SE so he’s stuck in traffic for the next 90 mins trying to get home. If he lived in a good quadrant he’d be home by now.

I left Calgary 15 years ago and it would take a substantial amount of money to convince me to move back to ANY quadrant. Come at me bro.

I'm so glad that this turned into another Avenue Magazine neighbourhood thread, those are my favourite.

I can only think of the one in the “mall”, so I don’t know. It’s not a selling point for me personally, but I don’t think I’ve seen another Safeway with that.

Off-topic: this thread and these neighborhood discussions are the best!

I'm not convinced you get home to the nothing north any faster. Deerfoot at Southland is the only spot and it's 5-10 mins and completely avoidable.

It's called Penbrooke Heritage Estates. It hasn't been "The Red Carpet" for a few decades. Try to keep up.

I think my favourite part is that when someone pipes up and calls Calgary a bush league, low rent, second class city, all of the hatred of each other’s quadrants/neighborhoods will instantly disappear and we’ll unite to fight our new enemy.

BS. It's been Red Carpet until Lansdowne sold it to a US equity firm a few years ago. It will always remain Red Carpet in our hearts though.

Go on the calgary subreddit and ask what's special about the city and you'll have 40 fruit baskets saying "we have the most bike paths of any major city" like anyone gives a ####.

That'd require me to go on the Calgary subreddit and I don't need a dose of schadenfreude right now.

It depends. Do they include bike lanes in this total?
