Was seriously surprised he got nothing for portraying Jim Morrison in The Doors. I guess that nobody got any awards for The Doors was strange. Early 90s were full of amazing movies though, that this got snubbed was kind of telling of that.
I feel obliged to [once again?] remind everyone how ROBBED Kilmer was for his Doc Holiday performance in Tombstone.
That was it for the Oscars for me. And I was like 12.
Kilmer has put in some excellent performances over the years. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Heat, the Doors, Willow, Thunderheart, The Salton Sea, Wonderland, True Romance, Spartan, and Real Genius are all great flicks. And of course the aforementioned Tombstone.
I also loved his comedic roles in Top Secret and MacGruber.
Come on, think whatever you want about that movie but without Tom Kazansky goading Pete Mitchell it doesn't even get off the ground.
Kilmer is one of my favourites of all time. I read his book, it was weird, but gave great insight into his life. I expected to see big chapters on all my favourite movies, but as major milestones they may be in his career, in his eyes they were small insignificant side distractions to his true passion, which was classically trained theatre acting.
I gained a lot of appreciation for his artistic side. It almost seemed to me like he took those roles to keep the lights on so to speak, and to fund his passion projects.. which unfortunately never really came to light.

Apparently Kilmer is reprising his Iceman role for Top Gun 2. I was reading that his son is the person doing the voice-over narration in the documentary, as his voice is very similar to what his dad sounded like before his throat surgery.
I wonder if perhaps they used his son to dub Val's voice in the new Top Gun flick as well? I know the movie was filmed quite a while ago and was shelved due to Covid, so maybe he was able to film all of his scenes before his surgery.

Ya I have been wondering how they do that as well. He was very excited when it was announced and made it seem like it was more than just a two second cameo on some advisory panel or something. I'm obviously not expecting a major role given his current state, but an exchange between him and Cruise would be epic and so nostalgic. "YOU SAID I COULD BE YOUR WINGMAN ANY TIME!!!"

Everyone blames Limp Bizkit but in reality it was the event organizers.
No shade on an airfield and 4 days of 100 degree weather. 2500 toilets for 250000 ppl. Overcharging for water, limiting water free tap water access, banning festival goers from entering with their own water and food supply so they have to for overpriced food and water. They did it to themselves.

I had completely forgotten about the #### show that was Woodstock 1999. Even watching that trailer makes me uncomfortable. Looking forward to the documentary!

Don't forget about young white males, of which Limp Bizkit were the de facto leaders.
