I think that as a species we think we know a whole lot more than we actually do and as such are impeded by what we think the limits of physics, the rest of the universe etc are and how things operate.
Or it could just be weather balloons.

I want to wait until that radar video is somehow more confirmed, but honestly... This is so similar to what fravor describes from way back in 2004... It's happened now on both coasts, to multiple ships confirmed by the US Navy. If this is another nation on earth then the navy is essentially powerless against it, and perhaps the air would be lost as well. The most advanced radar and tracking systems on earth are baffled by these things.
Obviously, I've seen countless things in the sky that I don't understand," said Hadfield, a former pilot for the Royal Canadian Air Force and U.S. navy.
"But to see something in the sky that you don't understand and then to immediately conclude that it's intelligent life from another solar system is the height of foolishness and lack of logic."
Again, a lot of people who are interested in this aren’t “immediately concluding” its alien life from another planet. Stop using this as a detracting statement to these claims.

But the loudest voices are and the mega voices are making a tonne of money.
Aliens are one of the less likely explanations. The other explanations that aren't "malfunctioning sensors" (completely unlikely at this point given consistency and multiplicity of reports) are all extremely interesting and concerning as well.
Does another nation on earth possess technology that would invalidate the greatest military power on earth? Does the US possess this technology while still investing countless resources in war planes and rockets to travel to space? If so, why??!!?
The other mindbending thing, to me, is that no one seems to be disputing that this video was taken on the USS Omaha. This isn't just a random US Navy destroyer, and not that any have sensor systems to be trifled with in general, but this is one of the ultra expensive, fresh off the line Littoral Combat Ships. This is literally the top of the field for the Navy.

Disappointed you missed the opportunity, so allow me to help.
This is littorally the top of the field for the Navy.

Right, the rest of the headline was “and can’t rule it out either”.
So, they don’t know what they are. Again, ‘aliens’ are one of the least interesting and important theories.
They changed the headline after I posted but I agree. It’s far more interesting if these objects are really man-made and able to move in ways that are beyond current technology.

Just about to finish the 'three body problem' trilogy. The gravity wave stuff is truly that of fiction.. but it's crazy how often science fiction becomes correct. Incredible

It unreasonably annoys me how people seem to be more fascinated in sci-fi level stuff, when current science has been absolutely mind blowing. Too slow to follow I guess.
Proof of gravitational waves detected in the last few years! Unbelievable stuff I never thought I’d see. Everyone I shared that with just said “cool”.
