Is there any truth to performance degrading on old iPhone models as the new models come out? Finally, any good tips for picking one up cheap? Troll Kijiji and hope to find one underpriced (that isn't stolen)?

Thanks for any input.
I just upgraded from a 5 to a 6 (and have an under priced 5 for sale in the buy/sell to boot) and I didn't notice any huge performance issues. It isn't super fast but was still usable. It was still on ios 9 though, I didn't upgrade to 10.

Battery life was not optimal though. Part of the reason I'm selling mine for cheap is that it could probably use a new battery.

I've always felt Apple allows older model iPhones to have one too many iOS updates which causes it to run at a crawl, making you want to upgrade sooner than you would otherwise. As long as you keep their phones on a lower version without updating, it should be okay for their use.

I do say this with experience in helping my 70 year old Aunt with her iPhone 5. I don't know how useful they'll be three years from now though, considering it's already 4 years old. It runs email and facebook just fine right now, which is the majority of what she does. She recently got an iPad as well, and I just told her to message me if the iPad asks her to run a system update so I can make sure she doesn't update to something too new for her iPad.

Netflix isn't in this TV guide type app incidentally, which sucks.

This event is falling flat on its face so far. 30 minutes of Apple TV software that solves problems literally no one has.

So it only works in Apple products or with the newest Windows? Ya, way to work on expanding your market, Apple. Talk about preaching to the faithful. What marketing maven approved this?

But why? It's basically an add for your products. Why limit it to people who only own your products? Wouldn't having the biggest market possible make more sense?

Because Apple. I agree, it's never made any sense other than being a nyah nyah to non-Apple users.

Ha, yeah, thats the first thing I said when I saw the leaked photos. You'd think by now they'd able to go a lot closer to the edge.

Oh well, I've been waiting for this thing for a couple of years now so Ill be buying regardless.

Context sensitive menus are not exactly a new thing...Microsoft Office has had them for some time. I do like the possibilities though. The coffee-shop bloggers will eat this stuff up for sure.

I'm curious about pushing it so hard for art-type things, considering artists already use pen tablets with one hand and keyboard shortcuts with the other hand. I doubt this would be much faster or more useful in that sense.

It looks really small, for what they have ti doing. There is space up there, doubling or tripling it's size might make it more useful. I like the idea, it just looks cramped. But maybe that's saved for v2.

My biggest reservation would be the keyboard, I tried the Macbook keyboard and I was not a fan at all. Hopefully this will be a lot better.

And they have a headphone jack, so if I bought new lightning headphones for my iPhone I'll.. need an adapter... Lol.

Yeah, Im not really sure how much I'll be using that feature, it looks pretty tiny. Most of the time when Im working on a laptop, I just bring along a mouse, and use my left hand for keyboard shortcuts. Guess we'll see if this will have any huge effect, but I kind of doubt it.

At the end of the day though seems like a nice upgrade. I would've much rather seen a thinner bezel to maximize the display size, but oh well.

Absolutely insane pricing. $1900 for the 13 inch MacBook Pro without the touch bar. $2300 if you want the one with the touch bar. 15" ones start at $3K CAD.
