Michael Frolik has a broken jaw out week to week.

Kristen Odland @Kristen_Odland
Bad news about #Flames RW Michael Frolik. Out with a fractured jaw and lost some teeth.

Klimchuk has been playing well and might be more suited to Frolik's role.

Klimchuk is oft-referenced by coaching staff as being on the cusp of a call-up.

Regardless, losing Frolik is a setback.

Man I figured a few lost teeth but the jaw? Ouch. I expect a call up now but still doubt that call up will play right away. Hope I'm wrong as I'd love to see Mangiapane up here.

Ouch, unfortunate to hear. He's quietly gone about his job.

I really really hope the flames aren't dumb enough to just slot Lazar in and move Brouwer up. I'm not holding my breath though. Treliving and Gulutzan really make some questionable roster decisions with the guys at their disposal.

I'd be fine with either Mangiapane or Klimchuk getting a call. Both deserve it.

Flames were already weak on the wings to start the season and now they've lost Frolik and Versteeg. Yikes. Hopefully they can both come back in good time.

I'm guessing Mange is up and plays pretty soon.

I hope so. Move Jagr up and slot Mangiapane into the 4th line.

Mangiapane, promising as he is, still needs to work on a few defensive things. His turnover last night in overtime lost the game for the Heat.

Gulutzan says they're not immediately calling up anyone (Kristen Odland on Twitter).

Well, Curtis, if there was ever a time for you to do something, it's now.

I would expect a Heat player to join them on the trip home.

NO thanks.

We have kids in Stockton who are in shape, trained to play the Flames game and ready, willing, and deserving to go.

To this date we've had 3 AHL players come up. Andersson only got in the one game but he looked solid. Janko and Hathaway have gone above and beyond expectations.

It seems like Lazar is getting another crack at it - after all that's what the 13th and 14th forwards are for, injury fill-ins. But I suspect Treliving will be far less hesitant about bringing Mangiapane up considering the above successes, if Lazar does nothing again.

Yep. Sink or Swim Time.

Local kid Morgan Klimchuk is waiting in the wings.
