That was a fun half. This could go either way, I'm so nervous.

Sorry FG, but how was that not a penalty? Just clearly ridiculous.

So why was Australia given that penalty kick? My feed is Chinese so don't really get the nuances. Seemed to me like the usual contact.

Well I still have all my hair after that game!

That was a great performance from the Aussies who should have won. After the poor start they had the Danes on their heels for most of the game. Just no finish unfortunately, you can't rely on handball penalties for all your goals. It would have been nice to see Cahill at the end.

Hopefully Peru can pull off a big upset.

I think the Danes can get a point off of France so hopefully this result doesn't hurt them. No idea why that wasn't a penalty in the second half on Australia.

The usual contact between a hand and a ball?

It seems so strange that with all the attacking talent France have, it's the slower Giroud who makes such a difference. They just play off him so well.

Its sort of the catch 22 of the modern game.

Theres so much attacking talent and the rise of the popularity of the 'False 9' has lead to many fewer genuine 9-type strikers, but the purpose of that striker wasnt always just to be the one to score the goals but as you said, to be a focal point to starting the attack.

Giroud does that well, I think at the moment the best in the game is a toss-up between Lukaku (for Belgium) and Lewandowsky.

Kante was also immense in that half.

Doesn't seem very fair that some of the anti-football teams are doing ok this tournament, while the very exciting Peru team will probably be going home.

Thats pretty much how the international game is at the moment.

Anti-Football won Portugal a trophy.
