Ehlers is 24 for the record.
But yeah, 0.70 PPG in the regular season, and 0.33 in the playoffs (7 assists in 21 games).

Their 2C Bryan Little is still out with an ear injury. That's a big hole for a team that's historically been weak at centre even with Little in the lineup.

When you think about they have 3 question marks on their second line. A "new" albeit decent center in Eakins (15pts in 49 games) still not at Backlunds or maybe even at Ryans level. Ehlers in a drought and Laine can't find his shot.
The bad news was all signs and quotes make it sound like Hellebucyk will be ready. He may steal a game however we have to hope he doesn't steal more. Never forget while he won won 31 he lost 21.
Also FWIW they've spent waaaay more time scrimmaging than us with 6 so far. No idea what difference that'll make. And they have NOT practiced mimicking the weird start times they have to face.

How bad is their defence, really? I know they lost Trouba and Buff but I have no idea what is left? Can they really be that bad if their goalie is a Vezina candidate? Or were they so bad he had to be heroic?

They're so bad about being bailed out by their goalie that ricardo pathetically used +/- to attempt countering Bingo's point about them having abysmal metrics at 5v5.

I didn't look it up, but the Vancouver guy covering for Rintoul this morning on the radio had a segment with a guest breaking down the series, and they absolutely trashed Winnipeg's defensive game this year. According to all the fancy stats, they are dead last in the league, even behind the Red Wings. Sounds like Hellebyck's the only reason why they are even where they are.

Checking Winnipeg Sports and heard a Maurice interview as they head into bubble.
Ehlers is banged up going into the bubble.
They've lost a depth defeneseman Bitetto to covid. Must have been a while ago and just admitted now.
When asked how Laine looked, Maurice dodged it by saying the "team is skating well and he looks as good as the rest of team". IE Laines not standing out and nothing about his shot issues. Compare that to our coaches and media all very impressed with Gaudreau this camp.
Can Calgarys slightly better 18 skaters beat a goalie who was hot....4 months ago? Thats what it seems to be down too.

I, for one, approve of the recent Monty Python flavoring on CP.
I think it is perfect for the Covid 2020 season, and vote that we make it the official theme.
All in favour, say Nee!
