I know everyone rags on him, but I actually appreciated his quirkiness. Usually good for a laugh even if it wasn't always intentional. Can't deny the fact that he is passionate about hockey. I also randomly met him one time and he was great to talk to.

anything to do with him manxplaning the game of hockey to a female professional hockey player?
I can't imagine, it wasn't that bad.
Though I do get a kick out of the idea of an NBC exec pulling Pierre and side and saying, "Okay Pierre, now you're going to be down here *gestures as if to a child* and Boucher is going to be up here *gestures again* Okay? Nod if you understand little buddy."
He lacks the folksy charm that would allow him to make stupid remarks, instead he comes across as weird or creepy. I wouldn't be surprised if the mansplaining incident did him in, it was pretty bad.
When asked about the mansplaining afterwards, she didn’t find that was the case at the time. She’s known Pierre for years and he respected her hockey knowledge. Though when she watched it again, she could see why people perceived it that way
Yeah, I keep rewatching the video and could not find anywhere that's offensive.
It’s because he pointed to each end of the rink for the teams. Apparently people thought that was mansplaining and that he thought she was a dumb woman who didn’t know which teams were playing.
Edit: oh crap, are you a woman? If so, I apologize for mansplaining that video. My deepest apologies.

You know how sometimes you try and not say something offensive, and in trying to be respectful you actually #### up and say something that sounds super patronizing?
That's what this seems like... Pierre might be a creep, but I've never felt him to be a mean creep. He's just very extra.
And yes, not allowing Gord Miller's "CAN. YOU. BELIEVE IT?!" to breathe is far and away the most offensive thing Pierre's ever done.
