Pat Verbeek: 5’9” - 190 lbs
Steve Sullivan: 5’7” - 156 lbs

Mark Jankowski: 6’4” - 205 lbs

One of these things is not like the others.

You might be confusing Steve Sullivan and Pat Verbeek with other players.

Montreal still has their 1st round picks for the next few years I believe. Colorado doesn't get the defenseman they want, but thats a deal that could work.

Galchenyuk, a 2018 1st and a 2019 1st. Colorado would do that wouldn't they?

Also I don't want Jankowski lighting the lamp at both ends of the rink. That would mean scoring on his own team.

I guess? I probably wouldn't though. I would be looking for Mete in the deal if they want Duchene that bad. They want roster players, because if it was a deal with multiple draft picks involved, I am pretty sure that they would have pulled the trigger already. But who knows, it's Sakic.

Speculation based on assumptions. So pretty questionable conclusion you've reached

So far in 3 games, he's even on the plus/minus with 3rd pairing ice time, with one assist to his name....the same amount of points that Drouin has provided the Habs as their top line center.

He's been good enough that some fans are analyzing the decision to keep him up permanently as a 19 year old. If Sergachev doesn't play 40 games this year, the Lightning get a 2nd round pick. I wouldn't rush him, but he looks like he's destined to be a top 4 mainstay for years.

TL;DR-Yzerman is smart and Bergevin is dumb.
Drouin was getting benched in the World Cup because he wasn't committed enough defensively. He couldn't stick in Tampa because he wasn't committed enough defensively.

So Marc Bergevin decides to take this small, defensively weak skilled winger, and turn him into a centre because he played centre in junior behind Nathan MacKinnon.

Hey, at least he speaks French.

No doubt, but not sure GMs make decisions based on 3-4 games into a season (though I guess Bergevin might!)

When MacKinnon was on the team Drouin played LW IIRC. He moved to centre when MacKinnon graduated and Ehlers basically replaced Drouin on the wing IIRC

I will say Pat Verbeek was as strong and chiseled as you will ever see a player.

wouldn't it be:

or is it just a really big school?

Seriously? Why the hell does every thread need to include a reference to Trump? Nobody cares. The joke is over done. Do you want to ask if my refrigerator is running?

Sorry, but the statute of limitations on making fun of Donald Trump will never expire.

Other than the fact they have been looking to move Duchene or he has wanted out for months, if not a year now(as rumored)... Duchene has 2 years left on his deal and is a UFA at the end(fact), how can one not conclude that the rumor of an offer that has supposedly been on the table, isnt BS? Unless the offer is simply for spare parts..?

"Speculation based on assumptions" ? isnt that the whole thread? At least I have used some sort of deduction of speculation to apply to my thought process.

If this was information by a unknown source, who's to say the source isnt from the Avs front office in an attempt to drive up the price on Duchene as the offers they have actually received are not what Sakic thinks the is fair market value?
