Seriously - living alone is an amazing thing.
Don't feel like wearing pants? Don't!
Wanna listen to Radio Albania? Go for it!
Curious to see if you can cook a curry? Give it a whirl!
Wanna bring home a "Less than lovely" without ridicule? No problem!
It's a great life. If you're lonely, call a friend.

Best part of moving out right here. Get off of me pants! You don't own me!

I was about a month away from 17 when I moved out...left.
Parents were not good role models. Worked, finished school and got edumucated on my own.
Moved to Penthouse Towers in downtown Calgary on the 32nd floor...cost me $150mth for rent. Roomate covered the other $150. That was an outrageous price as far as I was concerned....but it was an unreal experience. My next door neighbors were Midget Wrestlers. Chicks loved them and we were at all their parties.

19, left to Vancouver Island for a gap year and ended up finishing school here. Spent every year after the gap year anxious to pay my own rent and get my own place.
Still continue to be nervous about achieving the income necessary to be a home owner.

18, so a year ago. I'm in my second year at university. I was planning to go home for the summer but managed to find a good summer job with the city here. Of course it wouldn't surprise me if I end up going home at some point if I find a co-op job in the area or need some help to land on my feet when I'm done school. However, I love the fact that I moved out, I love my parents but I think we were finding each other a bit intolerable by the time I left haha.

I'm almost 30 and I'll be finally moving out in February when I move to North Vancouver. Though I did move out for a year when I went to college in Winnipeg. My reasoning has more to do with the fact it's not easy finding an apartment here so I'm not really ashamed of it.

The first time that you can plow a girl without nervously staring at the door to make sure that your parents don't walk in is a good day.

At what age did I move out? Which time?
18, 22, and 26 I think. And if my parents don't get off my ass I'll be gone again!

I was 17 when I graduated high school, and I took a year off before going to University. I moved out during first year of University, so I was either 18 or 19.

18 when I moved to Lethbridge. Couldn't imagine being in my 20's and still lieing to my mom that I stayed over at a buddys house when in reality I banged the slutty girl doing body shots at the bar.

22... shipped myself to NY for grad school. Lack of resources/money forced me to sleep on the floor for a year, and then upgraded to an air mattress for the next year.....but it was worth it.
I didn't mind staying at home for undergrad. Free food, laundry, cable etc, while still being relatively free. Plus I was still terribly awkward with the ladies, so it's not like I was gonna get much anyway.

25. I owe my parents a lot for letting me stay rent free while I went to school and worked for a bit to save up enough money to buy a place.

23, got my crappy apartment with my GF at the time. Moved back once again for school in my late 20's and then bought a condo.

17, had to move away to go to university. Lived in rez the first year (U of R), then had roommates for the rest of undergrad and one year of grad school (U of M). Then I lived on my own (no roomies) for 6 years before I got married.

still at home at 24, but have the basement with kitchen and seperated entrance, so it's essentially my own space. paying rent to my parents but much cheaper than renting elsewhere ($600/mth incl hd cable and internet, 1400 sqft, space to myself versus 7-900 for a crappy bachelor suite without laundry or a garage to park in, or having roommates) saving up for 20% on a downpayment on a house.
