Wouldn't surprise me...though I think they should give him the opportunity to say goodbye.

I think they see Burke as the next guy in that role, though it wont be coaches corner.

I hope not. I like Don, even if his takes are a bit dated.

People take him way too seriously. He and Ron the faces of HNIC for me. If they’re going to cut him thy should at least give him the opportunity to have a farewell show.

I quite like Burke and would be okay with them giving him more airtime.

They will never be forgiven if they don't give Cherry a swan song year, corporate suicide IMO

Mistake without letting the guy go out on his terms.

#### Rogers has to be the most evil company ever conceived. Actually maybe Pembina Pipeline or CNRL, but Rogers is close.

I had a feeling that this past year was going to be his last. I enjoy him for entertainment purposes, and also out of tradition. He's not always out to lunch, and a lot of the time nowadays he's pretty politically correct compared to ten years back. I seen it as his last year simply because he looks like he was aging (quite a few weeks he appeared to have quite swollen hands), and because of the look and being in the entertainment industry, Rogers would find a way to get someone young on there to be their new guy. They already tried it a few years back with Strombolopolous (sp?), and I'm sure they'll go back to trying something like that again, given the need to always get the younger demographic. I do hope they keep the segment going until he decides to end it himself. I don't personally find any of the show nowadays a problem unless Don needlessly starts talking about the troops (on a hockey show). Aside from that the beauty of the show is the tradition, with infographics and technology slowly modernizing the product. Hotstove is good for the sensationalist fan who loves rumors. The game is the game. Perhaps they change the pregame show more for the kids, but everything else is fine. Rogers will be Rogers though.

Hmm, I don't know. With Rogers it's just classic corporate greed. I'm convinced Bell actually hates Canadians and wants to see them suffer

So because Roger's overextended themselves to ruin CBC Sports and screw over TSN, we all don't get to see Don Cherry anymore?

#### you, pay him.

Could be a mutual decision.

He is 85 years old, after all.

So was Bob Cole.

Bob Cole should've stayed. And been given playoff games.

Rogers is to blame.

Leaving on his own terms is all well and good, but if it's time, and he won't agree to something reasonable, then tough decisions have to be made. What if he's insisting on a 5 year contract.

I can’t remember the last time I thought a segment with Don Cherry was entertaining or insightful.

Maybe when in elementary school?

Amazing career, but it’s past due.

He's been on a year to year for two years now, Even Cherry's ego wouldn't ask for 5 years!

Rogers punted Maher 2 years before he wanted to retire with zero notice only to replace him with a cheaper model with no clue ...they are scum on a different level.

My eyes just rolled out of my head.

You know, just because something or someone is old, doesn’t mean it’s bad, right?
