Oilers and Devils swap 1st liners and depth players
The Oilers have acquired Anders Lee and Carter Rowney from the Devils for Mats Zuccarello and Derek Mackenzie. Cap difference will also be made and the Oilers send .86 million to the Devils for this season. Zuccarello was tough to give up as he was one of our best players last year and has a great rating, and Mackenzie had a great defensive rating, but we wanted to get younger and by acquiring Lee and Rowney we do so. Lee will join Tavares and Eberle on the top line, just like they are with the NHL islanders, and Rowney will likely sit in the press box but should have a higher rating next year on a cheap contract.
