Surprised the media hasn't reported Prentice's death, must be waiting on confirmation.
We flew into Calgary last night and the turbulence over the mountains was far more intense than usual.

Probably not something you just want to throw out there until you have confirmation. Glad they aren't taking the CNN approach.

Obviously any kind of decent after takeoff would be not normal. But -2,200 fpm itself is a normal decent rate and not a plunge.

Great read on this story and how it affected the survivors lives in the subsequent years:

Very tragic news.

I can't even imagine how tough that will be if his mother is still alive.

This is even more sad for the family. Apparently Mr. Prentice's son-in-law also lost his father in the crash. Terrible news.

It was a well known Optometrist, Dr Ken Gellatly, that also died in the crash.

That's pretty shocking news. Condolences to the family for sure. It's really quite remarkable to consider how certain decisions can take one down a different path, and where the destination of that path ultimately lies.
This was a pretty sharp guy to be sure, who was very successful in what he did regardless of the outcome of the last election.
