Unfortunately its not looking like I will be able to make it this year but at least DC/WB shows up and supports the expo. Last year they had a Wonder Woman booth there as well. Maybe Locke you can get Jason Mamoa to sign your copy of Justice League on Blu-ray

I only realized this was going on when I saw Thor and Loki cutouts at a Hotel lobby.

I completely forgot this year. Might just check out marketplace on Friday? Or even today if possible?

I just enjoy this time of year when you randomly cross paths with someone dressed up. Last year was a guy in the full on Spaceballs white officer get up (complete with giant white helmet) crossing the pedestrian bridge in the East Village.

First of all, I'm a big fan of Jason Momoa, but if he wants to sign my copy of 'Justice League' hes going to have to buy it himself.

Furthermore, I will never, ever, ever attend Comic con.

You're missing out. It's a lot of fun.

If only there were other comic cons to go to that weren't on the last weekend of April. Alas.

You should check out the Red & White Comic Show that's held a couple times a year. I actually like it better than the Expo because it's much less expensive and the venders are just independents selling their stuff.

The Expo is a music festival and the Red & White Show is a club concert.

Comic Con is in San Diego. Apparently it is trademarked.

You should go, puts all the others shame really. We don't really bother with anything more than a day at the Calgary Expo frankly.

Even with it being the "preview" day the con feels noticeably smaller than it did last year... I got the full wristband during the early-bird period which was probably excessive given what I was able to take stock of this afternoon, I like being able to freely wander in and out throughout the weekend though.

That was great! Better than the Stampede Parade.

A little girl was dressed as Yoda and walked right into a post! Needs to work on her force skills.

A couple Deloreans, one decked out in time gear, Steven Ogg, and a whole lot of Star Wars.

The effort some people put into their costumes is unbelievable. Except for the store bought ones. That's kind of cheating.

I didn't know 95% of the characters.

Huh, you can still get passes at the door? Their website even has Thursday available to buy?

I hope not. Hoping it'll grow to attract some more significant exhibitors.

I don't mind either way. Not everybody can or have the time to go too crazy. Just happy to see people enjoy themselves whichever route they go, especially kids having fun.

I've found in previous years it's usually only Saturday that absolutely needs to be bought in advance.

My assumption is that they scaled back a bit on account of the general economy, it definitely seems like they've shrunk down on vendor/attraction space.

Apparently there was a big uptick in the number of people in the cosplay parade compared to last year though so maybe I'm just going crazy. I'd have taken part but midday on a weekday isn't the most practical time for me.

The weather certainly helped but also probably people being more comfortable doing stuff like that which is great. Superhero movies are dominating the box office these days too.

Can anyone confirm the Rob Liefeld prices for signing?

I heard $50+ for normal issues. $80+ for X-Force 1 and $100+ for 1st Deadpool and Cable.

Is this true?
