Ridiculous to lose that game. Flames were by far the better team. Goaltending was underwhelming, as was the PK. refs were awful and made an impact.

I don't want to complain about the refs, but man what a rough night for them.
That non-call on the GWG was the cherry on top. A little too obvious and blatant to call, I guess.

The Flames find a way to get outgoalied on a far too frequent basis. I don’t know if that’s all on Markstrom, but it happens way more often than it should.

Awful broadcast, scrappy game, Koskinen with a rare good outing. Flames still clearly need another weapon up front.
On the bright side, I don't recall seeing the Flames contain McDavid that effectively before. He was a non-entity off the PP.

Flames are just waking up now.
That was annoying. Got off to a decent, if shaky start and then promptly forgot how to play. No aggressive forecheck, and not much backchecking either. Nothing like the Florida game at all.
What is it about the Oil...they're like Kryptonite to the Flames?

If Koskinen didn’t, through some miracle, channel Dominik Hasek this would easily been 6-3 win. Don’t know what’s up with Markstrom but he has looked mostly terrible the last couple of weeks.

Team can't even beat a sad sack team that's on the verge of implosion.
Elite teams beat their rivals when they're down. Flames very, very far from that. Not a surprising result.
But on the flipside, Oilers will continue the course with their coach for the next bit still, which is great since it'll ensure continued ineptitude from management.

Well it certainly looks like the fast start to the season was just smoke and mirrors. Flames will either miss the playoffs by a few points or sneak in to be easy first round fodder, again. Same as it ever was

Markstrom is a good tender but my god has he had career long difficulties against Canadian teams.
Different goalie vs Canada clubs.
