Default Celebrity Death Jessi Combs

Professional racer and TV personality Jessi Combs died at the age of 36 while attempting to beat her own land-speed record in a jet car, her racing team says.
The Harney County Sheriff’s Office says a jet-powered vehicle was involved in a fatal crash Tuesday afternoon in the Alvord Desert in southeast Oregon, local station KTVZ reports. The sheriff’s office did not release the name of the victim.

Jessi Combs’ team member Terry Madden announced her death in an Instagram video post on Wednesday. The video showed dozens of photos and clips of Madden with Combs on vacation and preparing for races.

“We lost her yesterday in a horrific accident,” Madden wrote in the Instagram post. “I was the first one there, and trust me we did everything humanly possible to save her!”
A good death is its own reward

Whoa. She was a lot of fun when she was on Mythbusters. Sad news

Wow. I too, remember from Mythbusters. Never watched her show, but she was clearly having a blast when she worked with Adam and Jamie. Kind of a magnetic personality, I thought.

What would be left of the wreckage at those speeds? I suppose at the very least things would have ended very quickly for her.

Very tragic, loved her on Mythbusters. If there's a silver lining here, it's that she was doing what she loved and knew the risks involved.

Considering the vehicle was on the ground and would have had some form of roll cage it is probably not quite as bad as you would think. I saw one article that said she was in hospital surrounded by family when she passed. I'd imagine she didn't feel a thing though.

I always thought she was the coolest of the female contingent among the car shows on tv. Sad day.
