Could have been many different reasons. Late night and drunk trying to buy drugs, thinks his wife hid his phone to stop him.
Many reasons, but they all don’t matter. What matters is what he did, not why he did it because of what his wife did.

The responses in these threads are fascinating. They’re like a Rorschach test.

Or just drunk and POd that the phone was missing and blaming someone. When something's missing in my house it's never my fault. I don't assault anyone but I sure get grumpy.

If this doesn't show our society's unhealthy obsessions with phones, then I don't know what will. Some counties down here have resorted to removing cell phones from students in public school for the entire time they are on campus. That has been met with threats of lawsuits from parents, and in some cases, beatings of teachers who took away the phones by the students.
Maybe the phrase "digital detox" needs to be taken as seriously as we do alcohol or drug rehab? I don't fully know the answer, but a lot of bad #### seems to come from being attached non-stop to our devices.
Sent from an electronic device that I am hopelessly attached to.

I'm at a loss how you read that article, about how a drunk went into a violent abusive rage and go "gee, cell phones!! “.

Granted no one here can say if he is guilty or not because we don’t have the information, but when there are accusations like this, it seems pretty crass to speculate what she might have done to make him angry as if she shares the blame. She wasn’t the one arrested.

Where there's smoke there's probably fire.
Nothing justifies Milan getting physical, even if it turns out that only the hair pulling actually happened. Completely unacceptable.
Emotions get elevated in certain situations and not every one has a healthy marriage or conflict resolution skills but going out on the town and getting ####faced when you have three kids at home hosting a sleepover is massively irresponsible. He knows better than any one what kind of behavior he's prone to while intoxicated.
The big man needs help.

Because the trigger for his rage was the missing cell phone? What other canned response should I make about condemning violence against women or railing against alcohol that a thousand other people would make? We all know that those things are bad and should be condemned, but I'd hardly be breaking new territory by saying anything like that. I'm highlighting an additional factor in the equation that is rarely discussed.
But you know, I'm also doing it in a light hearted jokey kind of way. I know you have no sense of humor, so I felt the need to explain that specific part to you.

I don't disagree - phone use is at ridiculous levels by way too many people both young and old. For me the worst is when people even just have devices out 24/7 in day to day life whether they are using them or not, and when some parents rarely even watch their kids sports at practices, and instead bury themselves in the phone to "pass the time". None of this is good for relationships, and it's certainly not good for the mind if a person can never just sit and watch or be in a situation that isn't stimulating.
In this Lucic case, I'm betting the phone is just the final straw of what has been a growing issue under the surface for a while that may be infidelity related, drug and alcohol related, or just stress and anger related.
Either way it's sad to see and hopefully he gets the help he needs and they re-evaluate the relationship before this gets to an even worse point down the road.

Just going off on a tangent (no implications on what's happened with Lucic)..
Generally speaking, those younger than the Boomer generation struggle to be present for more than a few moments without distracting themselves with a device. There have to be long term side effects to the repeated cheap dopamine activation and the increased intolerance to living with anything but that. I often wonder if people who were traditionally not prone to addiction are developing that with their devices/SM.
Between reduced attention spans and long term cervical issues (how commonplace are neck humps going to be in the future?), there's probably bound to be down sides to constant immersion in something that we weren't evolutionary programmed for which will emerge in coming years/decades.
I have witnessed some interesting reactions from people to misplaced/lost/broken phones. I think too much of our lives/well-beings are tied up in these things.. what's worse is big companies are exploiting that dependence and in many ways its becoming the industry of the future.

Seconded. I've also witnessed some insane fights over phones. It does not surprise me at all one little bit when I hear about domestic incidents (between spouses or family, esp. parent/kid) starting due to perceived phone issues.

I get that I am in the minority here, but my wife has complete and full access to my cellphonetelephone anytime she wants. She knows all my logins etc, and anytime her phone is dead, she'll ask me for mine to check something and I hand it over, no qualms. And the inverse is also true in that I know all her logins and could open her phone at any time I should desire. Of course I never do as I rarely if ever need to. I just can't wrap my brain around being so freaked out by my one trusted person having access to my device.

It's a very worthwhile conversation, but certainly in a thread of this gravity it makes more sense to create a thread in off topic? Otherwise the thread will just become about that.
EDIT: FFS, it's already taken over, lol.
