You have no idea of the pension numbers if they are any better or worse for Albertans but just seeking info about it should be discouraged at all costs.

My guess is he was poring over shadowstats.com charts which had the "real" inflation figure of ~15-20%. Of course, believing those numbers again relies on a person not understanding how compound growth works, as even tiny discrepancies between real and reported CPI increases eventually blow up into gigantic discrepancies over a long period.
