This is so weak. Reminds me of the recent Trinity Western University debates where people tried to make the argument that they were being discriminated against because no one wanted to uphold their right to discriminate against homosexuals.

If it's acceptable, why then did she apologise to Pence?

That wasn't an attack on religion so much, as a direct personal attack on a powerful person. Freedom of thought/speech also allows powerful people and their supporters to be offended. Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences.

Behar admitted it was an attack on religion.
Quote:
That explains why Behar looked like she was in pain as she mouthed the words, “I think Vice President Pence is right. I was raised to respect everyone's religious faith, and I fell short of that. I sincerely apologize for what I said.”

Quote:
But he also encouraged her to use her program or another public forum, “to apologize to tens of millions of Americans who were equally offended." The next day, she did just that.

So Dion are saying that you think there needs to be a law that all companies act the same in any instance of their employees doing something publicly offensive?
Or something else? I'm not entirely sure what your point is.

I'm not asking for any law. Just pointing out that there seems to be different standards between companies on how they deal with offensive comments made by employees.

You could have ended that sentence early by saying that "there seems to be different standards between companies", because that's how a Capitalist society works.

I'm going to carry around a empty pill bottle with the words Ambien drawn on in crayon so when I say something mean, or upsetting, I can rattle the bottle around.

Yep, just look at how many celebrities rail against Canadian Oil either oblivious to or understanding that they're actually supporting American Oil companies via financial support and direction of American environmental activism.
Their words mean a lot, they have great impact.

You might as well put on black face makeup and that bottle for Halloween. Maybe a popular look this year?

I'm not going to watch the show, for reasons, but I was interested how they resolved the series finale where it was revealed Dan was dead, the mother was gay, and the lottery and last years of the show were made up by Roseanne in her writing?

How are you going to rattle the bottle if it's empty?

Looks like if it was a ploy by Roseanne to get out of doing another season, or if in fact she is a nut job, its had huge consequences.
Her management agency has dropped her, and any streaming services that the original or reboot were on have pulled the show. She's getting the she doesn't exist treatment, or the Michael Richards.

Looks like CBS is moving ahead with "The Conners".
http://money.cnn.com/2018/06/21/medi...arr/index.html
Quote:
"The Conners" is the working title of the re-rebooted sitcom. It will be a "spinoff" of "Roseanne," the network announced Thursday night.
"Roseanne Barr will have no financial or creative involvement in the new series," ABC said in a press release.
ABC and the show's production company, Carsey Werner, had been working behind the scenes to strike this deal ever since "Roseanne" was canceled on May 29.
|
Quote:
ABC ordered ten episodes of the new show.
The network said it'll occupy the same time slot, Tuesdays at 8 p.m., that "Roseanne" would have had in the fall.
For now, the premiere date is vague -- just "fall 2018," according to the network.
