Heat lose 5-3 tonight in San Antonio. This moves the Rampage ahead of the Heat in the standings. Stockton is now 6th in the Pacific.

Fortunately, Texas lost their game tonight, so they didn't widen their lead over the Heat.

Stockton and San Antonio play again tomorrow night in what is effectively a must-win game for the Heat if they want to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

Stockton and the teams in pursuit of the heat all have like 6 games in hand sitting at 61 games . They need to win for sure but if they keep playing well should be okay.

They don’t play as many games as the other teams. It goes off winning percentage.

Rittich in net as the Heat take on San Antonio

Stockton’s roster is almost as depleted as Calgary’s

Stockton wins 4-1 in San Antonio to move back into 5th place ahead of the Rampage. Texas won in the shootout to keep their lead in the playoff race.

Stockton now has 6 games remaining. Their next game is Wednesday in Texas. It's pretty much another must-win game. If Texas goes 3-3, Stockton needs to go 5-1 to make the playoffs.

Flames assign Dube to Stockton and Stockton signs Joly to an ATO.

The Heat defeated Texas in OT tonight. The good news is that it's two points, the bad news is that Texas also picks up a point, so it pushes the Heat's chances of making the playoffs a little bit lower.

Dube played in tonight's game. He had no points but two shots. Joly didn't play. Kylington returned from his emergency call-up and assisted on the GWG.

Stockton now has 5 games remaining. Three against San Jose and two against Ontario. They have won their last three games against San Jose, but have not defeated Ontario yet this season.

With five games remaining, the Heat need to collect 4 more points than one of Texas or San Diego (who both also have five games left) to make the playoffs.

San Diego has a very tough final 5. They are third in the Division, but all of their remaining games are against the two teams ahead of them. They might end up being easier to catch than Texas.

Stockton starts a crucial home-and-home series against San Jose tonight at home (they play again in San Jose tomorrow afternoon).

6-2 loss to San Jose.

On the bright side both Texas and San Diego lost tonight although Texas in a SO.

Stockton probably has to win out and still get some help on the oot to get in but it's not over yet.

The Heat lost again this afternoon in San Jose, 7-3. Outscored 13-5 in two games this weekend with their playoff lives on the line.

Texas won their game today. San Diego is currently tied with Ontario after the first period.

It's at a point where even if Stockton wins out, they probably won't make it. They need a total collapse from Texas and/or San Diego to have a chance.

On the positive side, Dube got his first two pro points in the game today, with 2 assists. Joly has yet to play his first game for the Heat.

San Diego won their game last night. Texas has officially clinched a playoff spot with their win and Stockton's loss yesterday.

The only chance the Heat have now is to win every remaining game (and no more than one in a shootout) and San Diego must lose every remaining game in regulation time.

They could be officially eliminated on Wednesday.

Huge 6-3 win for the Heat over Ontario tonight. Tucson defeated San Diego 4-0, so Stockton's slim playoff hopes are still alive.

Friday night, Stockton visits Ontario and Tucson visits San Diego. Again, a single point gained by the Gulls or a loss for the Heat will eliminate Stockton from playoff contention.

I watched the game as my cousin Jaret is now playing for the Reign after his Chiefs were eliminated from the WHL playoffs.

Stockton played a great game, Petersen was pretty terrible in net for the Reign through 40 minutes and replaced by Wedgewood in the 3rd. Lomberg with 2 goals and a solid game overall. Foo with many opportunities as well.

Looks like Poirier has come back to life as well. Would love to see these guys sneak in a make a run. Long shot, but would be something to root for after this extremely frustrating CGY season.

Poirier has actually gotten a bigger role since Mangiapane has been injured. Talent is there with Poirier just seriously lacking consistency. Guy is also quite physical, would be amazing if he and Foo could develop into two middle 9 RWs for our big club would help us so much.

Nonetheless could still be a solid bottom 6 option as he doesnt need to score to make an impact in a game.

I'll be pretty surprised if the Flames even qualify Poirier at this point. Just my own personal opinion.

Poirier with 1G, 2A halfway through tonight's game. 4-1 Heat so far.

Has 10 points in his last 6 and a half games.

Has an AHL career high in assists this season, his point totals this would look more encouraging with a few more goals.

5-1 now for Stockton at the end of the 2nd

Buuuut San Diego is tied 2-2 with Tucson at the end of that second period. Tucson needs to win that one in regulation in order for Stockton to stay alive
