Friedman also saying the Leafs will be signing former Flame Nick Shore along with Kenny Agostino in his updated article.

So Panarin turned down $12.5x8 from the BJs and $12.5x5 or $11.67x6 from the Avs.

Reportedly has an offer from the Isles worth $12.5x7 on the table. Rangers and Panthers might still be in it as well.

Imagine hating Columbus so much you turn down $100million guaranteed money to play there.

I mean, he’s still gonna get a ridiculous contract somewhere. But dude could get in a car crash tomorrow morning, break both legs, and get nothing.

Literally nothing "logical" about that since it was never even inferred. Other C's on the team? Sure.

So you address the lack of scoring depth on RW by moving Jankowski there? Not nearly good enough, and I don't see the Flames dipping into the free agent pool again to address that problem.

There is no lack of scoring depth on RW...WTF are you going on about? There is no lack of scoring n the entire team overall...who cares what "position" they are supposedly labeled?

Strengthening your C position, is ALWAYS on the table no matter what team you are. Full stop. Hell, strengthening any position is always part of the whole exercise. If Jankowski gets bumped from C to wing because there are better players? GOOD.

Friedman once again suggesting Neal would be a fit in Edmonton, this time on Sportsnet 590 radio this morning.

Is there fire when the smoke is only from one person?

Friedman was asked what he to expect from the oilers just now on the fan here in Toronto.

He mentioned james neal being something he thought had potential....

Neal came to Calgary in large part because Mike Smith convinced him...

I am curious, let's play along, what would the deal look like for neal??

Would flames have to take back lucic? Russell?

If the flames saw value in reaves, could there be something to them wanting lucic as a physical threat to help the skill guys feel protected??

The thought of what Edmonton would send back is terrifying.

Lucic? Kassian? Gulutzan?

Terrifying.

It would almost certainly be Lucic -- I guess it would be worth a try? If he at least brings some compete and physical game, Calgary is further ahead then they are with Neal. Same boat anchor contract.

Puljujarvi would have to be included and even then... I’d rather just give Neal another go.

It’s not the same though. Neal doesn’t have to be protected in the expansion draft, Lucic does. That’s a huge factor teams have to consider when trading for a guy signed long term.

Lucic could theoretically wave his NMC for the trade and invalidate it for the draft. That + pulju is the only way I'd make the trade though.

Man lucic on this team would be disgusting. He brings absolutely nothing whereas neal could have a bounceback season. No thank you

With all the signings pretty much known, TSN/Sportsnet going to push the offer sheet angle hard hoping to create some suspense and excitement in today's coverage.
