Salary Cap, not sure how they could offer anything that Dallas wouldn't match immediately.

I know it was a short sample size, but I thought Logan Thompson was solid in the 20 or so games he played for them last year in his first year in the league. I think he has the capability to play 40-50 games for them but he's never done it before.

Maaaaannnn. This guy can’t catch a break. Hip surgery right now won’t be easy to even come back from.

Holtby is sitting out the season due to injury as well. He might end up retiring.

Perhaps Semyon Varlamov makes sense with the Islanders needing cap space

He's a big guy too that has weight issues. Not ideal at 31 years old.

Also, I hope this doesn't effect Lehner's mental health. He was in a dark dark place a few years ago and that could have been it for him. I hope this surgery/recovery doesn't put him back in that place. Hockey is secondary in his situation.

That's actually Dallas' biggest issue. They have 10 mil in cap space and still have Otter and Robertson to sign. If someone gives him a 6+ offer sheet I think Dallas is in a tight spot.

Mike Smith miraculously comes off of the Edmonton injured list and gets traded to the Knights for 50% retention in exhange for a 20th round draft pick.

I guess it depends on how much they think Robertson will sign for, as well as what they think Otter wants. Vegas has limited offer sheet options as well with some of their picks already moved, they would be limited to a 4.2-6.3 aav contract to have the compensation required. And realistically would need to be not too much more than Lehner's aav as they are already poised to be going into the season with a shorter roster.
Really it would be only possible if Vegas can deal with whatever the sticking point is between Otter and Dallas. If it's an extra million or maybe an extra couple of years, Vegas could probably do it. And if Dallas matches, then Vegas threw a wrench into a rivals plans.
