Do you love the low pay and zero rights of the gig economy, but would like to see your government services provided that way? Well, Dopey Smith has an idea for you!
Is she high? How does uberfying the public services sound like a good idea unless you are high, it's barely a good idea for Uber other gig companies.
I'll let you in on a secret...she doesn't actually want to fund anything. The less government, the better. Basically make everyone not quite a contractor and you get rid of all those pesky things like pensions, wage standards, unions and benefits.

She's going to cost a lot of people their jobs by doing that, including in major cities and rural. "Uber-fying" government services means people are going to lose guaranteed work, and the entire public sector mechanism will have to be rewired/redesigned. It would be absolute chaos and probably end up costing hundreds of millions, if not billions.
Mind you, if we get the tobacco industry to set up shop in Alberta because smoking has benefits, then there might be jobs waiting those folks after all.

It's amazing watching Conservative politicians observe the worst of the tech industry like the gig economy and Bitcoin and embrace it, despite all it's massive failures. Like, are you people even paying attention?

Yep and those people will lose their jobs, which will mean less income tax and less money for them to spend at other companies.

They aren't the brightest people in society and same with their voters.
It's why they despise post secondary education.

You are looking at those industries from a worker point of view. From a shareholder point of view they are great.

Ubers EPS history graph for 3YR is a little middle finger to shareholders.
I jest a bit with this one, clearly COVID hit them hard, but yes, I look at it from an employee perspective because those employees are our fellow citizens providing us with services that we need when we are in need...
Uber is probably a good example of what would happen. They charged artificially low prices to try to corner the market.. which they did in a lot of markets. But no one really thought what happens after that.

Well they thought they knew. Driverless cars would kill having to pay drivers, and it would be pure gravy. Unfortunately reality hit(well technically they hit a cyclist) and the whole "driver-less cars are a year away" thing differed from reality. Now I don't know what their strategy is, other than to wait it out until we have AI.
The boobs are no longer the wheels on the bus - instead it’s Theo Fleury and whoever is next, maybe Artur Pawlowski or Kevin Johnson or whacky pizza guy.

Danielle is one the most grating, off-putting, megalomaniacs I've ever seen in politics. Her lust for power is insatiable, including trying to wave her hands constantly with ridiculous gaslighting ideas masked as political craftiness. She loves the sound of her own voice even when she's choking on her own right-wing rhetoric. That "Don't tread on me" sign behind here, totally on brand for her too.
Also, she said that "Uber-fy" the public sector means speed up land title processing. Suurreeee.
