From those highlights I really like his vision, speed and reflexes. He could be a good one , looks like he could work on his mechanics a bit and I noticed a few times that he leaves some holes under the arms where he could be playing a more closed butterfly when the shooter is in tight.

Sergeev wins again gave up 2 goals on 20 shots in a 6-2 victory
he is now 7-1; 1.25 GAA and .948 sv%

Nikolaev assisted on the game winner, and scored the insurance goal
He now has 3G 6A in 10 games. He started slow and missed the first 2 games after returning from Flames camp. He is heating up scoring 7 of his points in the last 6 games. He has elevated to the Storms first line center. He is 20 years old, playing with and against 18 and 19 year olds, so probably to be expected since he is one of the few drafted players for TC

the Nikolaev goal is at ~25 sec mark

Coronato had another scoreless game, but he is very dangerous and created so many chances. Yesterday, he had 3 shorthanded scoring chances in one pk
Tonight he nearly ended the game twice in OT, hitting post and crossbar.
Donato finally has him on the first pp unit.

Sounding like a broken record

Sergeev wins again, stopping 28 shots in a 5-1 victory

Nikolaev with a goal and assist. 9 pts in his last 7 games

Some nice highlights by the Flames prospects
Nikolaev assist at ~31sec; and his breakaway goal is at ~66sec

Great pass from Nikoalev. He should be dominating this league and it looks like he is, which is a good sign for Calgary.

Good to see the depth in goaltending prospects! Vladar is still young as well.

Parsons has worked his way out of the plans for sure.

Speaking of goaltending Scott Wheeler says that Wolf is the best goalie prospect outside of the "Big 3" - Askarov, Cossa, Wallstedt.
Not bad.

Dustin Wolf has had such a quick climb for a goaltender picked in the 7th round in 2019.

On a semi-related note, my mind always runs to David Wolf when thinking of Dustin.

Goaltender development is more alchemy than science.

Doesn't hurt to have an over-abundance of quality prospects.

Scheduling in the NCAA can get a little erratic this time of year with the holidays and the World Jrs coming up and I assume Finals for the students.

Also, it looks like Boston College is having a COVID issue, so both Notre Dame and Harvard have had games against BC postponed this week.

Here's where everyone stands as of US Thanksgiving weekend...

MSU: 8-5-1 overall record.
  • Nodler has 4G/7A in 14 games. 11 points ties his performance from last season in 27 games.
  • Mattson has 1G/1A in 8 games. He's halfway to matching his performance in 21 games last season.

ASU: 7-7-0 overall record.
  • Koumontzis has 4G/3A in 14 games. He had 2 goals and 1 assist in 2 games this week against Joel Otto's alma mater, Bemidji State.

Notre Dame: 10-3-0 overall record.
  • Boltmann has 1G/6A in 13 games. The Irish are off to a strong start this season, including two OT road wins at Michigan last weekend.

Harvard: 5-3-1 overall record.
  • Coronato has 4G/6A in 9 games. He is in a 3-way tie for 3rd in points on the team. Harvard currently has 5 players scoring on at least a point per game pace.

All teams are back in action next weekend.

Interestingly enough, Boltmann is the only 19yo D man on that squad-the rest are all 21 or over, except for one guy that hasn't played all the games and has zero points. JB probably isn't getting prime ice-time yet, but has fairly decent production.

EDIT: My information was wrong, he turned 20 in October, but still….

Everyone hated the pick at the time, but he is suprising.

I think people around here for the most part know that Todd button and co are pretty good at their job. A lot of these picks are inscrutable until they ply meaningful games, Boltman included. Right handed defensive dman loved by his teammates is someone I’m biding my time in judgment. He isn’t a hobey baker candidate but he’s playing for a good program and is looking like he belongs as one of the youngest in his dcorps. Hopefully he ends up being an asset at the pro level.

Thus I don’t think “everyone” hated this pick.
