like I said don't shoot the messenger...S is actually fine for what it is I just think the marketing is misleading BIG TIME
I actually have both and know...
S is great for my kids to minecraft on and for $250 worth of shoppers points it was a STEAL. Actually some games do pretty well on it just kinda worrisome that an early flagship game would be gimped so badly.
Maybe they patch it?
Yeah, I didn't think it would require green text.
Series S was always going to be hamstrung by its GPU. I have faith in the Devs of both consoles (Sony and MS) to be able to make strides this gen on game performance and visuals.
As for patches...that is guaranteed. Would really like to see the cinematics and animations running at 60FPS.
Why the hell can't I play minecraft with ray tracing on the series X? Such garbage.
It’s wild that there’s been no next gen upgrade or enhancements for Minecraft at all. One of the biggest and most profitable game IPs in history and they just kinda let it sit there.
I think the biggest thing about Minecraft that I wish had been addressed is the complete and total incompatibility between the Java and Bedrock versions. Especially early on, this was such a massive pain in the ass, so confusing.
I've had the Java version for eons now along with a few friends, and one of our other buddies wanted to join our server, but he has the cross-platform Bedrock edition, so he can't. The Java version is superior for its overall extensibility, but it also... requires Java. Bleh. It also doesn't see all the new fancy stuff that Bedrock on PC gets.
My Xbox Series X mini-fridge showed up today. It's a pretty neat looking unit. Now the wife is arguing she should have it in her office since it'll fit two bottles of wine with the shelves removed.
If you don’t really care for it you probably won’t have trouble re-selling it.
It has an Eco and High cooling mode and neither is particularly loud. You get a normal AC plug and a 12V car accessory socket to take it on road trips, camping, etc. The console’s “eject disc” button serves to toggle the green LED on top, while the controller pairing button toggles the Xbox logo LED. Nice touch to have them individually controlled.

Massive shoutout to Chemgear! Can’t thank him enough on helping me get an Xbox for my family friend!
Very standup Cper!
Glad you were able to get one and even though I passed up Chemgear's generous offer I was able to get one a few days later. Good Karma for everyone all around 🙂

-Bought off a Kijiji scalper kid, got receipt
-Went tits up and failed to boot
-Returned to Sony under warranty
-Sony sent it back without fixing, said it's a refurb, deal with EBGames
-Sent back to EBGames, easy to deal with
-EBGames returns it to scalper kid since he's on file, I go back to his place and pick it up
If I bought off someone in a parking lot and they didn't respond or didn't have a receipt I would be out of luck with a $900 brick because it's a refurb. I was fortunate I had the kid's address, phone number and went to his place to buy initially. Plus he was friendly and responded to texts. I was also lucky that I sent it back to EBGames with 1 day left on the 30 day refurb/vendor warranty.
Careful when buying 2nd hand, make sure you get a receipt if it's a refurb.
Sony will accept returns without a receipt if it's new and within standard warranty timeframe. If it's a refurb, you absolutely need a receipt and must go through vendor.

did the kid tell you it was a refurb? Also, obviously EB is doing a ####ty job with them
Yeah, it was right on the receipt he gave me, I didn't care. But I also didn't realize that I would only get the 1 month warranty instead of the Sony 1 year.
At least EBGames/GameStop were great to deal with, one quick call to get a return box sent, done. Sony was confusing as hell and no one knew proper procedure.
I’ve been looking for almost a year now for a PS5 disk version and have still been poop out of luck. I told my kids I’d have one for Christmas and it’s looking like I might be made to be a liar. If anyone has one they’re willing to sell for full retail price I’d be eternally grateful!

Reason: Found one at GameStop in Red Deer

If it's really important to you and you can afford it then just buy one from a scalper. I know it sucks, but the few hundred bucks is probably worth it considering the headache, time waste and the disappointment by your kids otherwise.
