Pat does not stoked fires unnecessarily. I tend to believe the Flames are close to something. Interesting tidbits.

Let’s hope there is some substance to the speculation, would love the Flames to get a bonafide top 6 forward. I think the Flames need to be all in, 1st round picks for 23, 24 need to be in play.

Almost feels like Pagnotta, Shannon, and Drance all have the same source telling them the same thing over the last few weeks
The longer this goes on without Friedman or Seravalli confirming Kadri to NYI, the more I think it's false
It would be pretty funny to see reactions around the league if Kadri came here instead

Yup. His cousin interviewed me quite a while back for a school project.

If the Flames are in on any of them, it doesn't move the dial too much. Kadri will be overpriced (still), and his term will be too long. Milano has some skill but probably is who is is at this point. Stastny, old and just can't see him producing much. So what's the substantial moves? Kadri I could see as the substantial label but those other two? lol

Kadri moves the dial a lot...he was every bit as good as Tkachuk last season...better in the playoffs and a center. Term is irrelevant as to how good the team is this season.

I feel like half the Lebanese guys I know in Calgary are Kadris. I am not surprised one bit if he has close relatives here.

Yeah - because he didn't have to be "the man" and the best shut down guys were covering MacKinnon and others. He's a good player but for where we'd slot him and the expectations, I'm very very very skeptical he'd do as well as last year despite having a bigger role.

The nice thing about Kadri is he shuts top players down himself. He can play McDavid.

Well it would be the same situation with the shut down guys covering theHuberdeau/Lindholm line

He’d probably still anchor the 2nd line.

I’m not putting Kadri in the same sentence as Tkachuk sorry. Best season was 61 points before last year. At 32 years old and counting, you’d be ecstatic if he surpassed his second best season at this point in his career.
25 goals, 50 points is all I’d count on him for. Tkachuk doing that in his sleep no matter his linemates. It’s not all points but Kadri is not a shutdown guy.

Kadri has family here?
So that means he’s going to Vancouver?

But if he was expected to do as well as last year he would be earning 9.5 mill. 7 range has some of that regression built in.
7 years doesn't scare me. The economics of the league are going to be vastly different inside of 5 years. Now's the time to swing on these. Sounds like they are he just hasn't made up his mind.

So same as he would be here? He would be a massive addition. 100 point pace while not on the top line shouldn't be a negative

Kadri is an great shutdown center
Point being he moves the needle a lot contrary to what some think
