I was commenting on the Blasty jersey idea - didn't realize the context until I read further into the replies. I'm fine with the red line change.

Anyways I think it looks lit AF. Better than the banal, boring block letter A that pretty much every other team uses.

It's a nice, subtle way of acknowledging the history of the team.

K I won't lie, that looks way better than I expected.

Didnt they have little mini flaming C's going thru that line at one point? Or am I dreaming on that?

It's been those little C's for a few years. Now they're switching it up.

Only if the ice is clean and you’re sitting at Center ice in the first 5 rows can you see this detail.

Bring back the cursive “Season’s Greetings” in green for Dec 10 to Jan 5 games at the blue lines.

On record of not being fan of Blasty. As a one off novelty like last year, fine (though was the least reverse of all the reverse retro jerseys by a long shot), but full time 3rd? Meh. At least freshen it up from last year with something other than patches. Different color, different striping, change the colouring of Blasty etc. But I still think a full time third should be something new and unique to the set, not simply a recycled novelty jersey from 25 years ago.

This may only be until Adidas bows out too, who knows. The new supplier will want to put their mark on each team sooner than later, and the home and aways should not be touched.

And have resigned self to the pedestals for this year reverse retro. Probably red. Hopefully they can make it something sharp (as is possible with such a lazy, uninspired design) like teams like Minnesota and the Kings has last year…maybe that means it should be white?

On the outside is extremely ugly. If anything I hope it’s inside the neck like. Looks super tacky on the back like that.

Maybe I can finally buy a blasty this year. With Lindholm on it.

I'm much more into the new centre red line than the return of Blasty.

Have the Flames ever worn Blasty during a playoff game?

The only year they made the playoffs with Blasty I believe was the year after the lockout in 05/06.

No. They only wore it as a third jersey in two seasons where they made the playoffs (2004 and 2006) and they wore the reds at home both of those years.

Default 3rd jersey leaked? Blasty?

That Steinberg article today sure is interesting.

Even after the emotional press conference where Treliving announced Gaudreau would be going to free agency they still continued to talk about a 7 year deal at 11 per. He can’t confirm whether Gaudreau started the talks back up or if the Flames did.

EDIT: Wrong Thread

That's a big paycut to go to Columbus. His agent must have really misjudged that market.

I'm hoping the early 2000's era black C jerseys are eventually brought back as a third. I'd love to get another one to replace my Phaneuf one, but with the slimmer fitting of modern jerseys.

Those jerseys were only worn for *three seasons* before they replaced them with the flag monstrosities. Just a crying shame.

The horrible flag jerseys were around from 2007 to 2021 - that was a 14 year time period.

That is actually the same length as time as our original retros 1980-1994.

Honestly the team allowing those monstrosities to live for so long was just a marketing and branding failure. The amount of money they probably left on the table by not having better jerseys or brand is probably substantial.

I don't even care about having flags on the inside or outside of the collar ... it looks kinda neat up close and you can't see it from a distance. But on the shoulders? Yuck, never do that again.

It's funny that people are excited to bring back the pedestal jersey as a potential reverse retro, me included. But the reason I find it funny is that in year 2045, fans are going to be excited that the Flames are bringing back the retro Flames flag jerseys... the nostalgia runs deep when it's the jersey you grew up watching.

I feel zero excitement for a return of the pedestal jerseys. They are the worst jerseys to ever feature the flaming C.
