Has he had many concussions in his career?

It also means we don't have to deal with his angry corpse after the zombie apocalypse happens. Thanks for keeping us safe Huby!

Sure, but if he's still alive when the zombie apocalypse happens, the zombies can't eat his brains because they're already spoken for. See? Smart!

Instead, the zombies will have to come after YOUR brains first. BRAAAAIIINS!!!!

This training camp will be pretty interesting.

When was the last time a new player of this ilk was brought in during the summer? Hamilton?

I'm still surprised its been weeks and neither guy has come to Calgary even for a few hours to do the big jersey reveal etc.

Not in a negative way, but I think perhaps the Flames are waiting for 1 more big move and then will introduce likely both guys and an additional signing at the same time?

In almost all cases (as seen with both Johnny and Matthew so far) the player gets out there sooner rather than later to at least face the media for a few hours even if its summer time.

One would imagine training camp is looming here in the next few weeks, so we should start seeing guys pour back into the city here shortly.

Hamilton was good, but not Huberdeau level... I think this is pretty unprecedented for the modern Flames at least.

Hamilton is far off, but I guess he's still the closest comparison to Huberdeau we've seen in decades.

I almost put "until Kevin Lowe got his hands on the lineup".

maaan, I was so pumped when they got Bouwmeester. Thought that D with him, Phaneuf, Regehr, Giordano and Sarich would be killer ... oh well.

If Darryl would have come back behind the bench to coach instead of his brother it would have been.

Too bad he put up an all-time Flames Playoff worst goalie performance against the Oilers.

Worse than Kidd, worse than Elliot, worse than Hiller.

Vlader would have beat the Oilers if Sutter gave him a chance.

You are off your rocker. Sure Markstrom wasn't good against the Oilers... but he was NOT Elliot bad... I can't believe you could even say that. He was also not Hiller bad... just complete nonsense. The Oilers loss was a team breakdown, not only on Markstrom.

Go back and watch it..... 5.12 GAA and a .852 save%
He made Kane look like Patrick Kane. He made a 1 ankle Draisaital look like Bobby Baun, made McDavid look like Gretzky and Hyman look like Leafs Hyman.

Every shot on him felt like it was going in like Kidd against the Sharks.

Mike Smith who let in a goal from 200 feet away outplayed him.....

I mean he did win the series against the Stars but holy crap wooofff against the Oil

Go back and watch, the team got suckered into playing the Oilers pond hockey style. Markstrom wasn’t good - but McDavid was in God mode, he made Kane look like Patrick Kane as much as anyone. Draisaitl, despite the ankle, was also lights out. We failed as a team, top to bottom. Elliot against Anaheim was shocking… we would have been better off having pulled him and used 6 skaters.

Interesting tidbit about Tkachuk's season last year. I had remembered that it seemed he had a strong finish, but in going back and checking the game logs, he went on a ridiculous tear with 38 points in his final 20 games. He was only slightly above a point per game prior to that run at 66 points in 62 games.

Not trying to put the player down, but in reality that 20 game hot streak where he was scoring at nearly 2ppg was a big outlier and likely was a big factor in the Flames pulling the value they did out of Florida. Does Zito make the same trade if Tkachuk had finished the season around 90 points instead of 104?

I just see Tkachuk regressing to 70-90 points for most of the deal.
