Amazing Race 33 -- It's finally back! -- January 5, 2022

They shut down production after only completing a few legs back in early 2020, but they were finally able to find enough safe places to travel (with the help of a chartered plane to fly everywhere) to complete the race earlier this fall.

It looks like all the racers -- and their relationships -- survived COVID to return for the end. They probably got lucky that there's only one dating team this season, so much lower chance of a break-up.

Pretty sure I was reading that 3 teams didn't return when filming picked up again. Going to be an interesting season as they say they revised the race to stick to more rural areas, lots of self driving and pretty much only in parts of Europe that were less impacted by Covid.

Okay, here's the draft order...

Same as always, pick one of the remaining teams then send a PM to the next person on the list. When it gets to the bottom, we'll work our way back to the top for a second round. That way, everyone gets two teams to cheer for from the start and the people with low picks in the first round don't just get stuck a with a dud.


According to this story, it does appear that two teams dropped out after the restart for personal reasons, and two teams were eliminated before the original stoppage, so it looks like they restarted with only 7 teams: https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/the...an-1235130165/

It's unclear how this affected how the race will play out. At this point, I assume we're all going in spoiler-free, so it's just up to your good or bad luck if you choose one of the teams that didn't return.
