Off Season Trade rumours thread - Brodie, Frolik, Stone etc. Only
Lots to talk about now around the thought and rumours to trading the three mentioned in the title; let’s keep this thread specifically for discussions around those guys and potential destinations/returns and rumours.

Frolik - If guys like Ferland and Dzingel haven't been signed yet, I am a little worried there is any interest for him. If we need the cap space, trade him for a 7th round pick. However, might as well keep him for depth in his last season if no cap relief is required.
Stone - I think at some point, he will be bought out. There is also a chsnce he gets traded in the pre-season when some teams require extra depth. It does really help that he only has one more year left.
Brodie - I am hopeful we will see a trade within the next week. I could see him going to Montreal if the Canes match the offer-sheet. I can also see him going to the Rangers for Kreider as he may be more palatable for them to trade especially with the addition of Panarin and Kakko.

Not sure if this thread will age well...
That said, who are some of the teams that have been rumored to be interested in those players or who would make sense?
Brodie:
Montreal?
Winnipeg?
Frolik:
New Jersey?

Frolik seems like a guy that would flourish and fit in with the Penguins.

Keep Stone, I like the idea of him helping out Valimaki and pairing with him. Move Frolik for picks and Brodie for something that helps fill a need.

For Stone and Frolik, just ship them out for the mid round picks or whatever they're worth. Get the cap space.
For Brodie, try and find a Kadri comparable, value wise.

with TBL having lost Stralman, I wonder if there's a possibility of Brodie for Tyler Johnson... I suspect the issue would be lack of term for Brodie, compared to Johnson.

Agreed! ... I scouring for a decent #2 C without much term left on their deal.

If we're talking Montreal, I wouldn't mind something like Lehkonen and a 2nd. Might be a reach but I assume Montreal would have the room to lock brodie up long term

You can always keep Brodie to start the season and see if Neal bounces back. If he doesnt there will probably be a 1 for 1 type hockey trade out there for a top 6 winger.

He would pull a Stempniak there, absolutely.

I think it's high time we traded etc. He's been a hanger-on all year. Always trailing at the end, never up front where we need him.

Based on needs, Calgary and Vegas would actually make good trading partners. They’re shy a RHD and for RW they have Stone, Tuch, Reeves, Gusev, and a few guys who play both sides in Marchessault, Smith, Nosek and Pirri.

Gusev could be a sneaky good pickup. Brodie for gusevs rights? I wonder how much it would take to sign him.

Vegas needs to shed salary, adding Brodie's $4.65M doesn't make sense for them.

What about the Columbus Blue Jackets based around a Brodie for Wennberg Swap:
Brodie, Frolik and Jankowski
for
Wennberg, Jenner
Or a Brodie for Toffoli Swap, fills holes for both teams and both UFA next summer.

Brodie and Jankowski is still even a reach. Jenner and Brodie are similar, as are Janko and Wennberg

I picture Gusev and Clarkson going to Columbus for some tertiary pieces.
