Tim Hortons will be pissed...
MacKinnon was the only hockey stick left in the playoffs.

I think I’m OK with Dallas moving on. Rick Bowness seems like a class act. That video of him tearing up watching the Hawerchuk tribute on the jumbotron got me in the feels. We’ll all be so lucky to have a friend like that at the end.

There are now no teams in the POs with a top ten C according to NHL.com rankings. Stamkos, Petterson and Seguin are in the next 10 in their stats.

I am a firm believer that if you have a top goalie and a true #1 defenseman you have a better chance. Lots of teams have 3 number 2 lines and some grinders.

I liked the Stars to take this series after Grubauer and Johnson went down. Things got even worse for the Avs, they just ran out of healthy players while Dallas depth showed up.

One side benefit could be that this series win may secure Rick Bowness as the head coach of the Stars for next season thereby leaving one of the more highly sought after candidates for teams like the Flames to go after.

We probably stick with the Vanilla hire still, but we can hope, right?

Was one of the many surprise picks by coach Jukka Jalonen for Team Finland in 2019. Won that extremely surprising championship. Got noticed in that tournament for his two-way play, speed and effort level (I assume), put up three points.

In other words, a year and a half ago he was kind of a nobody, a good but unremarkable player in a pretty bad team. Now he's got a world championship, a game seven hattrick, and 1/4 chance for a cup. Pretty good Cinderella story.

Corey Perry can EAD

I can't stand Pavelski either. Great player, but god damn has he been a Flames' killer over the years. 50 pts in 55 games. Could always bet on him to show up and ruin a potential Flames win.

Wow, shades of Joe Nieuwendyk, #25 for the Stars sweeping in a shot in front of the net...

Joel Kiviranta scoring a hat-trick in the playoffs, man that would be the equivalent of 24 year old undrafted Justin Kirkland doing the same for the Flames! (who is this guy?)

Here is Joel Kiviranta's OT goal in Finnish.

Hutchinson showed that he can play in the playoffs. The Jets and Leafs must be wondering what they missed. It was a good game to watch on the PVR with lots of goals and what a way to end it in sudden death OT.

I don't think Mackinnon was terrible in this game, by any means. But he wasn't dominant like he is sometimes. It's not like he played some epic, amazing game and his teammates let him down - the Avs, as a group, showed up. They came to play. And in spite of that, Mackinnon just didn't have his usual effect. Some of that is credit to the stars, but this is Nathan MacKinnon we're talking about. When it gets to game 7, being that guy means that your team can say, "everything's on the line? Cool. We have this guy, and you don't. See you next year." He has yet to provide that.

This is such a silly line in the sand to draw. Hockey is a team game and always has been. Mackinnon just put up 25 points in 15 games and he’s the reason they lost?

The team was missing:

1st line winger and captain
3rd line winger
3rd line winger
Top pairing defenseman
Starting goalie
Backup goalie

He's the reason they got to the 16th game, but he didn't do much in that game to cause them to win it. The 25 points are relevant to the games he scored those points in. They help you not at all in the game afterwards.

I'm not saying they lost because he didn't play like the game-breaker he should be, though. The injuries were definitely a major factor, possibly the biggest factor.
