The Islanders are a hard working team. I don't think they could beat Las Vegas or Colorado who have that speed and hard work, but in the East they could easily make it out.

Would be great if hockey goalies barked at their defense like soccer keepers. Tonight Hart would have lost his voice before the first intermission.

The Flyers are outshooting the Islanders 8-0 so far in the second period.

Lol, parking the bus is a soccer term. Pretty sure Mourinho coined it. Two rows of 5 defending.

Islanders double their lead early on in the third. It’s going to be tough for the flyers this game, against a Trotz coached teamx

That high stick has gotta hurt for Grant.

Isles 4-0, but flyers going on a powerplay.

Zero goals in 10 playoff games for Konecny. Yeesh.

If their offence stays this poor they may look for a top 6 shakeup in the offseason. 11 goals in 7 playoff games, excluding the seeding round.

Decent amount of scoring chances in this game, esp lines 2 and 3, but the lack of finish is concerning. Couturier had to leave his newborn 2 days after she was born -- fans are speculating if he is distracted. He has historically been a playoff beast. That top line was very disappointing .. but I almost see that as a positive, since I have faith they in particular can turn things around.

I see JvR coming back in, with a small chance of Morgan Frost. Gotta beat the Islanders neutral zone with skill; in the Montreal series, they had to defend the relentless speed/pressure. I also have faith the coach will make the proper adjustments.

I'm a Flyers fan - they've been my second team since the days of Hextall, Poulin, and Tocchet.

But with my Flames fan hat on, it's nice to see the Flyers' scoring and PP dry up. That can only increase the desirability of Gaudreau to Flyers management.

That's what I'm hoping for as well.

Only 1 goal from their top 5 scorers in 10 games so far in the playoffs.

Lehner carrying Vegas far might help make a Fleury trade a necessity as well. I like Fleury, but I'm only interested if Vegas retains some salary as well as $7M is too rich IMO.

I actually don't mind the Flyers as well as an old buddy of mine used to be a big fan so as a kid I followed them as much as any eastern team. Still I would love to see them crash and burn against the Islanders making Gaudreau a viable trade option if they are looking for a shakeup.

On one hand, it would be good to see the Flyers crash and burn, to increase their need for a Gaudreau.

On the other hand, it would mean their top guys underperformed...which is bad, since those are potentially the ones we hope could fix our post-season issues here.

Don't worry, surely Philly will be able to fix Gaudreau's lack of scoring in the playoffs and we'll be able to fix Konecny's lack of scoring!

I'm guessing this thread is dead because it's another stupid matinee game..been decent. Flyers looked like they were going to steamroll them in the first period and chased Varlamov from the net, but Isles had most of the juice in the 2nd, 3-1 after 2
