I'd prefer Couturier, but I still think I do that deal if I'm Treliving. Not sure if Philly offers that though.

I think that is very close to what it would have to look like. They aren't going to move Couturier, so Konecny + is the answer.
I like that it includes an RD, but the problem with it is that it doesn't help at center.

Do they? Gaudreau is the better player now, but I wouldn't say it's by THAT much. Konecny put up more points in less games this season, is a right handed shot, younger, cheaper, more term... if Gaudreau returns to his 99 point form then sure, but I don't know if he'll ever do that again.

Move Lindholm to center permanently, or hope Bennett is the real deal if given a full year at center with good linemates. Then sign Hall and that's a pretty great top 6.
Tkachuk / Bennett / Konecny
Hall / Monahan / Lindholm
Not sure if those are the best lines, but something like that. If Bennett doesn't work out, then put Lindholm at C and see if Dube or Mangiapane can keep up in the top 6. Looks solid to me.

I had bet on this game too.
$45 added to my pocket. Cha-ching!

If the Flames are going to move Johnny, they need to address the gap in the 1C position.
Konecny seems a fine enough player, but he's not a puts-butts-in-seats star like Johnny, And he's probably not a needle-mover in terms of team success when you lose Gaudreau in the bargain.
For me, if Johnny is getting traded, I'd sooner see the Flames add in order to get a genuine star at center back.

Lets please stop comparing an off year for Gaudreau to other players best seasons for trade value

So, why couldn't all these teams just lose in 5.
Down 3-1.. they all come back to lose.

Well said. Other hockey circles say that it was the Komarov move.

Is it an off year? Or is this what Gaudreau is and the 99 point season was the outlier? Probably somewhere in the middle, but I wouldn't be surprised if he never got close to 99 again.
And Konecny is 4 years younger, has improved every year so far in the NHL, and likely hasn't peaked yet. If I'm picking for a fantasy pool, I still want Gaudreau next year. But what about in 3 years?

Gaudreau is the better player with a higher ceiling, until Konecny proves differently (which may well never happen)

He has already had multiple seasons better than last...the whole team was off offensively last year so the #1 playmakers numbers will obviously be down. I would be willing to bet Gaudreau has multiple PPG+ seasons ahead no matter where he plays.

Has.Chuck Fletcher done much to put his fingerprints on this team or is this essentially Hextalls team? they have done some pretty good drafting with Hart and Provorov leading the charge.

It makes me laugh every time. I don’t see myself ever getting sick of it. Living in Ontario, I use it often.
