The few times that I have had to contact Nintendo, they have been extremely professional and helpful.

The Nintendo store did block my purchases for a while because they thought I was a store - "Nobody in their right mind would ever purchase so many different things and with duplicate 3DS shells, unless they were an actual store".

I had to call them up and then send them pictures of my collection to prove that I was not in fact a store. Had a good laugh with the other person on the phone about it and never a problem since.

Yay! I fixed the problem. I don't have to send the controller in. I'm not sure exactly what the problem was, but the obvious move of sliding the controller back into the console didn't fix it. There's a small recessed button on the inner part of JoyCon that I didn't notice before. I held that for a couple of seconds and suddenly the JoyCon powered on and re-synced to the Switch. That button was never mentioned in any of the websites that I ended up at while looking for a solution. The button is on the side of the JoyCon that connects to the Switch, just below the 4 LED lights that indicate your controller number.

Erm, the 'Sync' button? I had assumed that was the first thing you tried...

I take it you didn't own a 360 on release? I think I went through 5 or six of them in the first 6 months. That was awful, but at least I could keep my saves.

No, I bought a 360 when Halo 3 came out. In 2009 I got a free 360 with a TV purchase, so I sent the original 360 to my brother. That console red ringed about a week after he got it.

They're still seemingly ignoring the save game problem.

Ok picked up a switch and I only want 1 game to hold me over until the "good" games come out this summer. The only real choice seems like either Mario Kart or Zelda both of which I have on the WiiU even though I barely played each. Thoughts?

For me it's Zelda and IINEC.

I have probably put over 75 hours into that game and still am not sick of it and can't wait for the DLC.

Really it depends how you play games. If you are more into multiplayer or online then I would say go with Mario Kart.

If you prefer story and a single player experience that is surprisingly easy to play in short burst - then go with Zelda.

Really the answer here is just to get both.

Any opinions on ARMS so far? I played a ton of Mario Kart, but never really got into Zelda. My Switch needs something new

It's fun -- there's a deceptive amount of depth and strategy to it. Great characters, cool stages that actually alter your strategies, awesome music. Single player content is definitely pretty light, if you aren't planning to play online I don't think it would be worth it. It's a classic first pass on a new IP -- it's fun, mechanically sound, and definitely solid, but would really act as a base for a really good sequel.

I will say something I like about it is that it plays differently than any game you've ever played before. I admire when a game comes in with a really fresh idea and executes on it really well.

My friend told me they are still sold out? Anyone have any hints on where I could pick up a system?

Follow sites like this: http://www.nowinstock.net/ca/videoga...intendoswitch/

Also, pay close attention in the days before Splatoon 2 is released. Nintendo made sure to push extra stock before the MK8D release, and you can expect they will do so again for this game. The consoles still sold out rapidly, but they were at least available for longer than a few bare minutes.

I'm looking for a cover for when the switch is not docked, something heavy duty like the otter box for ipads. Any ideas?
