...aaaaaaaaaaaaand the Doomsday Clock has been bumped forward to 2 1/2 minutes to midnight. The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists don't explicitly blame Trump, but they do cite him:

Also this. Not sure if confirmed but this article says so. What a cluster***

In addition to being linked to a personal gmail account, the Twitter account appeared to have the lowest possible level of security, foregoing settings that would require a user to enter additional personal information to reset the password on the account.

I actually remember reading an interview with Trump about a decade ago where he mentioned that he never sleeps for more than five hours a night because he see it as lost productivity. At the time I thought it was concerning but didn't really care, but we're now seeing quite a few studies coming out linking sleep-deprivation with a whole host of cognitive disabilities.

Apparently most of the top guys' Twitter accounts (Trump, Pence, Spicer, etc.) were also poorly secured by Gmail accounts:

I'm willing to bet that's pretty normal for a President. Part of the reason they age 30 years in an 8 year term.

So apparently the State Departments entire senior administration team just resigned and Trump previously fired all ambassadors with no replacements and no exceptions.

Quote:
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s job running the State Department just got considerably more difficult. The entire senior level of management officials resigned Wednesday, part of an ongoing mass exodus of senior foreign service officers who don’t want to stick around for the Trump era.
Quote:
Shortly after Donald Trump was sworn into office as the 45th President of the United States, all foreign ambassadors were fired and with no concrete replacement ambassadors lined up.

Mr Trump had demanded that every ambassador in countries all over the world, who had been appointed by former President Barack Obama, were told to leave their offices by midday on 20 January and with no grace period.

His transition team had said on 23 December there would be “no exceptions” for ambassadors requesting to extend their postings past Inauguration day, in contrast with other Presidents, even for ambassadors with young children.
So basically he has no ideas on foreign relations, his possible replacement choices have little to no experience and now he has no staff to implement his policies.

That's true too.

I think some confuse wanting better gun regulations with "we don't want guns" though. I know a few American liberals, and a good portion own guns.

Sean Spicer isnt going to make it.

This Government is going to be burning through Press Secretaries on a monthly basis.

That's true, but Democrats have more brains.

I like this Macleans article

http://www.macleans.ca/politics/wash...sm-to-america/

Quote:
The Oval Office’s newest tenant owns a politics marked by compulsive, blatant, and sustained lying aimed at generating a cult of personality, rallying his supporters, undermining his opponents, and putting the press on their back heels

Coupled with attempts to bend reality to his will, Trump sorts the world into simple groups, characterizes them as enemies of one another, and then takes sides.

Moreover, his solution to the problems facing the United States is to use the power of the presidency to do battle rather than to work to find solutions.

When Trump says “This American carnage stops right here and stops right now,” he is referencing not crime, but an idea of the United States as a nearly post-apocalyptic hellscape marked by unchecked violence and widespread decay, porous borders across which would-be terrorists are constantly moving, and foreign enemies whose only interest is in the decline and fall of the Republic. He divides the world into heroes (the People) and villains (foreigners, criminals, terrorists, elites). To do battle, extraordinary commitment is required. So are extraordinary powers.

So Spicer says that the wall will be paid for with a 20% import tax on Mexico. Obviously never passing Congress, but fun to send some retailers stocks crashing down for the next little while.

not surprising though, don't know how many options there are to get Mexico to pay for the wall.
