I have to say no. It's atrociously lopsided.

Laberge can't even stay in the AHL, Goldobin has gone to Russia, Roman wasn't signed by the Flames, Maier is undrafted. That's a pile of nothing.

Am I missing anything here?!

I’m fine if this doesn’t go through. If someone would prefer to draft for Nashville that’s ok with me. I could draft for him if nobody else is but would prefer not too if possible.

I'm not a GM anymore but to me this is the definition of a Draft Pick dump.

Nothing of value is going back to Nashville at all.

Two GMs that are allowed to trade. Yes it should be accepted. We are talking about 4th round picks.

We established the trades where a GM dumps their picks just before the draft for a poor return would be rejected. It's one of the things that creates asset disparity in the league. Since our draft lands before the NHL draft, with a high volume of picks, there's a chance you nail on a couple 2nd rounders.

That's the reasoning for the vote.

Player values are subjective. I’d like to know if Nashville got any other offers after posting it on his block.

Nashville GM was in the league many moons ago and got fired for trading Marc Denis for Rask and a 2nd. So it’s all relative.

Update:
Just spoke to him, he’s out at the cabin and limited internet. I asked him if he got any other offers and he said ‘none’.

If this is rejected he won’t be around to draft anyways.

I spoke to the preds. He asked if I would send him timoshov and Lyon with this deal.

And for the record not one other team messaged him on the block. He approached me today and that was the ask.

I am fine if the deal does not go through. It’s not worth it to me to argue as I literally did the deal because I was approached and he wanted to make a deal.

The picks outside the 3rd are late and really are not overly valuable to me. So if everyone feels it should be rejected I’m fine with that. If not I will send him the other two players.

To be clear, no one did anything wrong here. But this is what tended to happen in a lot of historic drafts, where right before the draft, someone couldn't make it and would dump their picks for a poor return.

And I think it's also a good lesson for new Gms to be specific on your trade block. This is what he had posted:

"Martin Frk and all my 2020 picks are available. Toss me some ideas, would like to add a winger"

Which is different from

"I'm not going to make the draft, so I'm looking to move my picks for a combination of 2021 picks and prospects".

That would have probably generated different offers.

But these deals are the ones that were happening in the past, and why we started to reject them.

But if you both have agreed on a revised deal toss that one up there and we can re-vote.
